Hadn't planned to travel for dinner but appreciated the restaurant reservation in Perigeux at Hercule Poireau (cave) restaurant, great atmosphere, personable staff and beautifully presented, delicious cuisine. ."

"We found this gem on our way south and so glad we stayed. The couple who hosted us were so kind and accommodating. The breakfast was wonderful. The view from the pool was incredible. It is a quiet town so there’s not much around but the city of Sarlat was wonderful. Sunday market is a must! "

"Breakfast was a joke. Tiny mid croissants, plain bread, and some boiled eggs for $11 euros a person. Lol. Location is extremely convenient. Staff is nice but is present for about 2 hours of the day. Room had no tissues. Could hear people next door."

The atmosphere was very warm and family-like, especially during dinner, which is available on request and felt more like a shared meal among friends than a restaurant experience. "Shower was difficult to use. Restaurant offered little choice & forced us order expensive, complicated fixed menus. A few more “plats” would be more appropriate."

"Chateau was beautifully decorated. Small elevator to bring our bags to first floor. Owner helped carry bags from entrance stairs to elevator. Robert and his wife were gracious and helpful."
