“The name of this property holds up to its name! My stay was perfect as I used it for a retreat, taking advantage of the many views of the volcán on a clear day and the serene garden. The location is about 2 km south of the center of La Fortuna, so a car is necessary. It is close to several of the tour outfitters that do canyoneering and rafting. “We had a really great stay at Villa Marcela. It is perfectly located just off the main road in La Fortuna so you are close to all the action but out of the way a bit. There is plenty of space at the house for everyone to have their own rooms. The kids loved playing in the pool in the evening after a long day of exploring. “We had a great time staying in this location. The view of the volcano is so nice, and the yard is beautifully landscaped. Being so close to the highway, you can sometimes hear a bit of traffic, but it wasn't too bad. Having Soda La Palma next door was great! We ate there for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. “What a gem of a property. The ambiance of this place was top notch and a perfect getaway, just a few minutes outside of town. The porch was my sanctuary, overlooking Volcán Arenal with tons of plants and bird watching. The host, D’Angelo was super accommodating and welcomed me the day of check in, showing me around the place, and the best way to get there. Has everything you need in the kitchen, puzzles, games, books and yoga mats. I look forward to visiting again!”
