"This was my first time staying here and also my first true solo trip. I came to Lake Charles last year to gamble but didn’t spend much time at L’Auberge. So when browsing I spontaneously booked here after seeing the great rates and that they had a lazy river w/ swim up bar and adult pool.
I arrived late - 7pm when check in was at 4pm. There was still a moderate line. Check in was simple but not necessarily welcoming. My room was great - it was clean and very spacious and well-appointed. The only thing missing was a microwave which would’ve come in handy and allowed me to bring my leftovers from the restaurant for a late night snack. I enjoyed the lazy river a lot. The swim up bar and adult pool were nice but very overcrowded (went on Monday). I had a great time overall!
I also had a blast at the casino - lots of fun slot play! The parking garage was very convenient and I felt safe there. I wasn’t able to try any of the restaurants except the bakery which was great. The seafood restaurant I was excited about is closed through the week, the steakhouse closed early and couldn’t get a reservation. I finally tried the Asian restaurant, which stayed busy. When mentioning I was alone I was told he didn’t have anything for me at that time and told me I could order to-go…while taking other peoples names after me. That was my only negative experience. So overall great stay!! Just keep in mind pools close at 6pm weekdays & the restaurants availability is limited then too."
