"Can't understand what's so prestigous about it, fairly average really. Location is awful, name misleading. Set by a landfill site. Restaurant ok. Bathroom was nice."

"We were looking for relaxing and thats exactly what we got. Easy to go for a bracing stroll straight onto beach (pebbles and sand when tide out) Successfully tired out a 2 yr old pointer as he ran miles and back along the endless bay sands.Garden large mainly flagged, very dog friendly, and secure. A determined dog could possibly jump the 3 foot gates but on the whole proved escape proofMain house warm and comfortable but spent most time in conservatory with easy chairs and a dining table. Pictures dont do this room justice as it stayed warm and cosy from morning to evening and the tiled floor meant wet dog paws not a problem. Ample room to have dog beds in here for snoozing happy dogs whilst left in peace to admire the views, read or just snooze yourself. Not really a bucket and spade beach, but perfect for collecting shells, walking, and running with dogs. Perfect week (Although could have done without the wind rain and hail) Will definately return if possible."

"Wonderful set up at The Lodge. Perfect for a romantic getaway or a small family break. All the mod cons, particularly liked the electric window blinds. Kitchen facilities was excellent and more than adequate. We also took our own coffee machine for that extra home comfort. Location was pretty central for the places we wanted to visit. Windermere was only 40 minutes away with stunning views of the country side on route. Hot Tube was a lovely touch and well maintainedAll in all a lovely break away from home. To be completely honest, we didn’t want to come home… 😂Testament to Steve and Cary for making us feel welcome to The Lodge"
