“Our family trip to this wonderful ranch consisted of 4 Adults, 2 Young Adults and one Teenager. Across the board we all enjoyed the property immensely!! From hanging out in the water meadow, walking to the river, exploring the barn, ineracting with friendly horses, camping out on the property to visiting the town for a local brew. Amelia, was wonderful to communicate with and was always avaliable if I had a question. Our favorite part of this historic place is the character and charm it has held……

“The stay was great. Alisha was very responsive after some technical difficulties, but it was not a big deal. The property was cozy & very inviting with plenty of amenities to make the stay fun and relaxing! Would definitely book again whenever it's available. “This beautiful home sits right on the river and the outdoor landscape is beautifully done. Loved lounging by the river watching rafters go by while my husband fly fished down below. We stayed on the bottom part of the house called River’s Edge. Perfect for a couple’s retreat away. Rod and Carol were so accommodating and you can tell they put a lot of pride into their home. Excited to rent the whole house and do a couples trip with our friends soon.”

“Had a wonderful time, the location was a little hard to find and dirt road leading to the location was full of rocks, not suited for lower sitting cars. All in all we had a wonderful time and would definitely come back to stay again!”

“One of the most beautiful we’ve stayed in, really showcases the mighty Kern river and the glorious backdrop that is the Kern River Valley. You have everything you need, the decor is very cool with a 40’s cabin/Mid Century Modern feel and hosts are so gracious. I would highly recommend The Kern River House!”

If i had to complain about something would be that some newer mattresses in the main house would be ideal. I might just be getting old though lol. Pete was super helpful accommodating us staying an extra day. 10/10 nice guy”

“Fun relaxing weekend getaway”

“The cabin had what we needed. It was nice to unplug for the weekend. We rented kid friendly movies from the local redbox and took kid appropriate games.”

“In short, our stay was great! The home overlooks lake isabella and the mountains behind it. Gorgeous 😍. 20 minutes up the road is Alta sierra, a ski slope. 2 hours from there is the trail of 100 giants. Great location. Wood interior of the house is beautiful. Cookware is limited, but still able to make a fabulous dinner. Recommend allergy medicine as the dirt generates dust and pollen from the trees. Nighttime offers a twinkling starry night display like no other! Sequoia National Forest is……
