Really a great option for about 12 persons (difficult to sit at the table with more than that). Great fire pit, quiet area, close to multiple hiking, not too far for Lake Placid. Really enjoyed our stay.

Great getaway

Oktoberfest Weekend

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Whiteface Chalet. The bedrooms were large and bathrooms were modern and well appointed. Everything was clean and neat. The steam shower and hot tub were big hits. We'd stay here again.

Family Fun Weekend

Perfect place to stay for our trip to Santa’s Workshop. Chalet is super clean, many bathrooms, plenty of space for our large family of 8 adults and four young children. Close to great hiking areas. Host checked to make sure we got in ok and if we needed anything. Hot tub, sauna, porch, fire pit so many relaxing extras. Best was the kitchen seating allowing all of us to gather together. Fantastic place all around!

Iron Man 2025

It was awesome! The property is on a large tract of land so we could spread out. Fire pit, chairs outside for star gazing and a hot tub. Our son brought a “bouncy house” for the 4 grandchildren to have fun. Our other son did the Iron Man. This location gave us multiple spots along the biking and running routes to cheer him on. Lake Placid is only 20 min away. The best thing is the home owner gave us a phone number so we could talk directly instead of waiting for an email. (We were able to enter just a little early on arrival day.) Thank you for helping us to create a family memory!

Couldn't Be Any Better

More than beautifully appointed, every need anticipated, easy from booking to departure....will book this home many times in the future. In a word, perfect in every way. And no, i don't know the owners or property managers. I say this freely....totally worth it and great location to Lake Placid, flyfishing, hiking, restaurants...felt like home.

Fabulous House and Property

Our family just had a wonderful 5 days staying at this house. There was plenty of room for 12 of us! It was quite warm out, but the indoor AC units kept us comfortable. The kitchen is beautiful…. we loved congregating around the large counter! The property is large… we felt like we were in the wilderness. We also enjoyed spending time on the wrap around deck. This was our second time staying at the house, and we definitely plan on coming back!!! Great for families!

Amazing Stay with a Whiteface View

You can literally see Whiteface mountain from the Whiteface Chalet! We had an amazing time here. All the amenities you would want and more! The beds were so comfortable and the hot tub was the best! Although we didn't use them, there is a steam room and sauna as well. We dined at the restaurants recommended - Pizza was delicious and fresh from Fratelli's and Rudy's had amazing food (If you are familiar with Rudy's in Oswego - this is the same family) - so good! Both are minutes from the house! Would love to stay again!

Amazing property!

We came across this listing when looking for a house that would hold 9 adults and 2 children. This was a perfect location -- plenty of bedrooms and space for everyone to hang out. The kitchen was well stocked with all needed pots, pans, utensils, crock pot, etc. The owner was very good about communications - whether about the location, the items that we should consider bringing, or the overall rental policy. If we need a house in the future we would certainly consider any of the multiple properties offered by these owners.

Our February Christmas

We had a group of 9 and 3 dogs. We tend to get together Super Bowl weekend. My Son Lives in Rochester NY and asked if we could find a place equidistant from there and Massachusetts. I found this home on VBRO. It fit the bill everyone had their space with 6 bedrooms all but one king beds.The living room was a little small for a house that size but the bar solved that problem most sat at the kitchen. It is probably the best rental I have had. It is close to skiing and Lake Placid was a blast. We had snow every day. We were kept plowed out.

Friends Weekend

Our group of five couples get together every October for a weekend Adirondack getaway. We were fortunate to find Whiteface Chalet as it met or exceeded our every need. A couple things that come to mind where the chalet exceeded. Bedrooms and ample seating. Bedrooms were roomy with comfortable beds. King sized beds with one queen size bed isn’t typical. Most properties have a hodgepodge of sizes. Having three en-suite bedrooms was a major plus. There is plenty of seating for socializing around the fireplace or hanging out in the kitchen. Can’t explain why but no one used the sauna, steam shower or hot tub. Even though we all brought swim suits. I think we were more than happy to hang out by the humongous fire pit. A Bose stereo speaker brought music to the fire-pit. We playfully called it Red Rocks! A great home that provides just about every amenity you could want. Only wish we were there longer. We will be back next year!

Highly recommend for families!

The family room/kitchen area comfortably fit all 12 of us. My son’s partner is a great cook-she found the kitchen to be well equipped and easy to work in. The beds were great. So nice to have a sauna and steam room. Judi is an amazing hostess with very good suggestions and was always available.My only complaint is on myself for not booking a longer stay.
