Cute cabin with lots of potential, but it needs better maintenance and more accurate listings. We stayed three nights while exploring the Adirondacks. The home itself is charming, but it showed signs of neglect. We noticed broken blinds, sagging curtain rods, missing light bulbs, windows that wouldn't close, and cleanliness issues. We had to clean some appliances before using them, the dishwasher contained standing water, and the washing machine (one reason we booked this property) had significant problems. The listing also advertised amenities that were missing or unusable. Coffee, oil, and basic spices listed in the welcome guide weren't provided. The bikes all had flat tires with no pump available, the kayaks were missing, and many of the board games and game room items were broken, incomplete, or in poor condition. We contacted the owner and it took a long time to hear back from him. He was polite and eventually offered a partial refund after we raised our concerns. While he did try to help with the washer, we felt some of our other concerns were dismissed.Overall, this property has the makings of a great stay. With a local property manager, routine maintenance, and an updated, accurate listing, it could easily be a 5-star rental. We'd consider staying again if those improvements were made.
