HUGE front & rear decks for enjoying the cool mountain air, the bungalow was transformed into a mid-century modern oasis in the woods just minutes from hiking, fishing, lakes, & rivers. The cabin features a full kitchen & bonus stand-alone game room with classic air hockey & infinity table! Well behaved woof woof's welcome, at no additional charge!

Nice place. Safe for pets and near a nature trail. Separate game room shed doubled as a home office with strong WIFI. There is some road noise due to location on a corner, usually during morning/evening rush hour. It could use a deep cleaning, but overall tidy and very functional.

A Retro Escape from the Heat

The BackInnBlack is an adorable home fitted with a cool retro vibe. We enjoyed hanging here for a week and especially looked forward to our daily walks at the Big Springs Trailhead, which is literally right across the street. There was a bit of noise from loud motorcyclists on Woodland Road, but that seems to be a local vibe up there. We were blessed with rain and a lovely rainbow as well. Alison and Jason were excellent hosts and responded promptly to our few questions. Overall, a relaxing stay. Thank you.

Compact cabin, with loud street traffic noise.

Cute small cabin, a few cleanliness and operational issues, but the constant, very loud street noise from large trucks and local traffic was not relaxing. The noise started very early most mornings (5:30 am...) and continued most of the day and evening.

Great Cabin, Good Location

A comfortable, amazingly clean and well-appointed small cabin across the road from a large nature area perfect for walking our dogs. (Love the sleek retro appliances in the kitchen!). Close to grocery shopping and restaurants. The hosts are quick to respond to any and all questions. Full marks!!

Cozy Retro Cabin

We had such an amazing experience with the owners great communication, super clean house and fun game room. The back porch was definitely our favorite place to hangout to enjoy the nice weather. There is great hiking, horseback riding and restaurants close by and walking distance to a cute little ice cream shop. Being dog friendly was so nice my mom and I were able to enjoy our little getaway with them. The dogs loved the back yard. We will definitely be back we had such an amazing experience!

Cozy Cabin near Trailhead

We enjoyed our stay. The pup and I enjoyed walking on the trails that were just across the street; saw a deer, squirrels, and ducks. It rained every afternoon around 3 p.m. for about an hour - typical mountain weather. Host communications were great. Highly recommend especially if you have children.

It’s quite a cute place — quite new, clean, charming, efficient. Felt like home. We ran into a few snafus (hey, “stuff happens!”), but the property’s owners were right on it — extraordinarily nice, responsive, accommodating … just what vacation renters hope for. The cottage is close to Lakeside center — convenient for food, entertainment, services, and it’s even across the street from a park/pond/hiking path. (While the house is not in a super attractive immediate neighborhood — we didn’t find that a problem; it’s an easy place for walking — both for us and our dogs). We would recommend vacationing in Lakeside/Pinetop and choosing to stay at this cozy rental property … and we’d nominate these property owners for a VRBO award for responsiveness, niceness,, and renter assistance.

Booked a last minute trip to show low to go visit where we spread my Moms ashes and they hosts were fabulous. Great communication. Place looks awesome! Just across the street there’s a great hiking trail or you could ride a mountain bike. Great stay great place great location great hosts. Not sure what else you can hope for!
