Such a lovely place, and staff. Always a pleasant experience. The added cabana pool and bar just elevated the experience. Honestly, best drinks in the town, and great food as well. This is now our go-to. It feels like a tropical getaway. Great vibe overall!

This hotel is beautiful. You can tell that the owners have poured their heart and souls into providing an exceptional experience for their guests. The rooms are well decorated and exceptionally clean. The pool and hotel grounds are immaculate and it felt like we were visiting a high end summer resort. The flowers and landscaping are overall vibe of The Colonial Hotel make it a definite destination to add to your vacation spot list in Southwestern Ontario. Absolutely recommend and can’t wait to visit again.

We have mixed feelings about this hotel. On the positive side the people at the desk were friendly and the hotel is close to restaurants and a 10 min walk to the beach. Room and hotel were clean. Unfortunately the room initially given to us, two adults and two teenagers, was way below expectations for 2 nights at over $1000 Canadian. It consisted of two tiny connected rooms, each with a queen bed and no other furniture, not even a single chair to sit with no closet or space for luggage plus a bathroom. Upon complaining we were told by the person at front desk that the reason we got a bad room was because we booked through Expedia! In the future we will try to book hotels directly through their websites. We did get moved to a reasonable room so it was good that we complained right away. Another issue is parking was very limited during the July 1 holiday weekend when we were there because the lot is used for public non-hotel parking and fills up frequently. The pool looks nice but was super crowded when we were there. This is party central with very loud music so if you are looking for a quiet location it wouldnt be a good choice.

The hotel presents a well-maintained and aesthetically pleasing environment, benefiting from a prime location and a notable pool area. Nevertheless, several shortcomings detract from the overall guest experience. Despite the hotel's size, a fitness area is absent. Guest rooms are notably compact, potentially hindering ease of movement. In-room tea-making facilities are unavailable, and on-site dining options are limited to the pool bar. Service deficiencies were observed, including a missed room cleaning and a perceived inconvenience when requesting it. Furthermore, complimentary water provided in the room was found to be partially consumed. The pool area was unavailable on one evening due to a pre-booked event, of which guests were not informed. The property appears to have undergone recent renovations, exhibiting a modern and well-decorated design. Its advantageous location at the entrance of the Grand Bend strip may be a significant draw for some. However, guests seeking standard hotel amenities and services may find this establishment lacking.

Great location closer to everything but further away from the action that you can enjoy piece and quiet. The vibes by the pool and the little gated area are pretty. Can park there while going to the beach all day and waiting for check in. I requested early check in I kept going to front desk but did not get room until after 3 p and that’s me going almost every hour asking because my daughter was tired. The room was ok cleanliness had to call desk because there was so stains on the floor. Asked for more towels no problem I would stay again. Even though my booking said 1 child room with tub was not given and only had a shower
