“What an absolute gem. From the second you're greeted off the plane by the team who help you on the boat to the island until the moment you leave, everyone is super friendly including the dogs! Comfy giant beds, powerful showers, refreshing pool with lots of shady lounging spots, gorgeous vistas, delicious food, punchy cocktails and a long stretch of pristine beach. Great location for day trips or just unwinding on site. We will be back.”

“Kizingo Eco Lodge lived up exactly to what we were looking for: a totally off-the-beaten track eco lodge (consisting of 8 'banda' straw guest bungaloes), well away from the hustle and bustle of Lamu Town and Shela. Its location could not be more perfect: one corner of the lodge faces the Indian Ocean, while the other faces the river/mangrove area (which also boasts the nicest sunsets in all of Lamu). From our banda, built on stilts into the dunes, we could hear the waves of the Indian……

“I reserved and paid back in October. When we arrived on Jan 11 -- we were told that our reservation was cancelled. In fact they were hosting a wedding - and cancelled our reservation without any warning. They proposed a disgusting replacement hotel (one-star backpacker hotel) which was 30€ per night rather than the 90€ per night we paid. We wasted 2 hours of limited time in beautiful Lamu. They refused to reimburse us and refused to send an email confirming that they cancelled a paid reservation……

“An amazing peaceful place. We spent 2 nights here just enjoying doing nothing except swimming, sunset walks along the beach and watching the birds and other animals.”

“The owner of the Hotel pretended not to have any business relations with this site. Even though i have paid the full amount, they charged me more and i had to pay them directly, in order to have my room. Confrontation and a stressful experience, with not much support from the management staff. Hotel is not very clean, but a basic breakfast was served.”
