“I have stayed at the Serena several times over the past 20 years. In fact, of the 80 countries I have visited the Serena in Mombasa is still my favorite place in the world. The staff, including front dest staff (namely, Althuman) and the wait staff are outstanding. Many are long-term staff who have obviously been well-trained in customer service. The Maisha Spa is always worth a visit. The property is beginning to show signs of aging so I hope there are plans to upgrade it, while not loosing its……

“The lush greenery around the property is appealing. However, there was confusion over the reservation, which took a while to sort out. Gaining access to the room, we discovered there were no towels. It took us three calls to reception and an hour and a half wait before receiving the towels.”

“We took so long to check in even we arrived at 8 pm the rooms weren’t ready we waited for almost one hour to check in .. there is a huge miscommunication between staff to the point that they sent the deputy manager and the security to my room to ask me to check out on the day before my checking out and he was insisting. The toilet smelled so bad as if they never maintenance the building”
