Villa Del Mar is PERFECT for group vacations

I have been organizing guys poker club trips to the Carribean the weekend before the Super Bowl for 4 years running. Villa Del Mar stands tall as the best and here's why. First the beach and water are AMAZING and steps from the backyard. The property has plenty of shaded areas in the outdoor spaces. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with mostly all ensuite bathrooms. The private pool is huge with a swim up bar and this place actually has a heated jacuzzi tub, which can be hard to find. Rebecca gets back to you right away when you have questions or need guidance. She runs the operation like a true professional. The chefs and bartentender we hired for the trip were terrific too. 5 Stars across the board.

Vacation and Wedding

We brought family and friends to Villa Del Mar for a week long stay. We hosted our wedding at the villa as well. We had a wonderful experience. The food was fabulous. Omar, Joel, and Jose were so nice and helpful. Rebecca went above and beyond to help me plan the wedding for 10 months prior to our arrival. She was great at communicating and she answered every question I had and made sure we had everything we needed/wanted for our big day. She also came to check in periodically during our stay. Can’t recommend this place enough!

Fantastic house and experience

Family Reunion 2024

Fabulous place to stay and unwind. The staff is great especially OMar and Jose ! Rebecca is completely awesome for all your communications and a great manager. The property is 4 star and could be 5 star with some upgrading. Watch out for the mosquitos after rain storms. Overall a great place !

WAY Better than we could have ever expected!

We chose Villa del Mar b/c had a huge family group (16 adults & 11 kids) so naturally needed a large space and this place did not disappoint! Everything here was incredible - the house, the rooms, the pool, the beach, everything! And more than that the staff was absolutely amazing. Rebecca was super helpful and communicative leading up to the trip. Deciding the nightly menu, organizing activities, booking transportation for a large group, she took care of everything! Omar's an amazing cook, Jose is the man, and really just everyone there was awesome. Really cannot recommend this place enough - book it as soon as you can!

Exceeded expectations

From the moment my group walked into the house they were very impressed. The pictures don't do the house justice. Rebecca was sooo easy to work with and very attentive. Jose, Joel, Omar and Miguel made sure we were taken care of. We are already trying to get back. Thank you for an amazing vacation.

Heaven on Earth

We were a group of 7 families bringing our sons as a graduation trip (23 people's. They’ve all grown up together playing sports together and will all be going off to college. The boys had a great time- pool volleyball, volleyball in the yard, spike ball, pool, ping pong, and paddle boards. The parents had an equally great time relaxing! There was plenty of room for us all. The house is spectacular. The staff is as amazing preparing drinks, three meals a day, and cleaning. The view and beach are beautiful. It is basically like a mini all-inclusive resort but you only have to share it with your friends/family. Rebecca, the house manager, was the best. Communication and planning with her was great. She set up our excursions (Laguna Dudú and snorkeling) and came by the house several times to discuss options with us. As others have said, you will need bug spray and you will need to be careful about slipping. We learned to put flip flops/shoes on as soon as getting out the pool or just walking around to help a bit with traction. You just have to be careful. This was definitely a trip of a lifetime and memories we’ll always remember! Wish we could have stayed much longer.

FABULOUS 50/25

My husband and I shared the villa with 24 other family and friends. Plenty of room and very clean. Rebecca is AMAZING! Very organized, helpful and prompt to respond. Highly recommend the buggy waterfall tour. You get to see all of the city. DuDu lagoon was gorgeous and worth the drive, able to see different part of the country. Do NOT recommend fishing (nothing caught but our own lines) Food was very flavorful, good and plenty for everyone. Breakfast could of had a little more variety. Gisele the bartender one day went above and beyond bringing us drinks to the pool, hot tub and kept the drink area really clean and dry. Jose could of been more consistent with drinks. Do be careful of the wet floor. The ladies did a Great job trying to keep it dry and clean. Miguel was very helpful when needing to go into town. Bring bug spray for Nosema, they started getting us after the storm 1/2 way through our week. 1 suggestion is bring smaller American bills. WATCH OUT for the luggage vultures at the airport when arriving and going to your shuttle bus to the villa. Make sure to pay only your bus driver upon arriving at the villa. I thought the 2 hour bus ride after flying was going to be rough and it was great to see the country, our bus driver was a very safe driver. No worry in the world, was a vacation of a life time! Can't wait to visit again. VERY BEAUTIFUL AND BREATHTAKING!

It’s simply paradise

We had the best time at Villa Del Mar. Rebecca and the house is staff is simply amazing! The chef Omar and Sous Chef Joel día a beautiful job preparing our meals, our guests couldn’t stop telling us how amazing the food was. Our bartender Jose prepared the most amazing passion fruit mojitos and drinks. Their attention to detail is remarkable. The cleaning staff is also on point, the rooms equipped and cleaned just like a 5 star resort. We couldn’t be happier. We had an unforgettable vacation.

AMAZING Stay

So we stayed at Villa del Mar as a group of about 25 friends, after my husband and I got married in the city. AMAZING does not even begin to describe the experience. For starters, Rebecca (the property manager) is wonderful. She coordinates everything in advance for you, and has a list of activities with great vendors to work with. The staff at the villa are also phenomenal. We paid Rebecca in advance for our food and drinks, and the Omar always had delicious food ready and Jose had great drinks prepped. The villa is in pristine conditions, the rooms are gorgeous, and the beach is beautiful. Only thing is beware the mosquitos… but being a beach front property with an open concept, there’s really no getting around that aside from lots of bug spray haha. Overall, one of the best experiences we’ve ever had and would love to stay again! Thank you Rebecca and Shauna for everything!

Amazing villa on the beach!

We had a wonderful stay at Villa de Mar. We were five families with kids ranging from 2 to 12 and had plenty of space in the villa. The villa had everything we needed and we only left once or twice - pool, beach, spacious outdoors, amazing staff and chefs, and a really incredible property manager that was super responsive, easy to communicate with, and had the perfect level of supervision and hands off so we can relax. The staff/chef crew were so nice and helpful, and their food was delicious. The property manager also helped us arrange a catamaran excursion, which was a real memorable highlight! 5 out 5 stars. We will definitely be back!!

Dominican Dream

We had 24 of our family and closest friends come to villa Del Mar to celebrate my 50th birthday. Ages 14 - 77. We charted a bus from Santo Domingo and upon arrival our breath was taken away by the beauty of the property. We were greeted by all the staff with cocktails and appetizers. Everyone was very happy with the accommodations. Three meals were served each day with the ringing of the bell. To this day we are waiting for the bell to ring to eat 😁. Food was amazing!! Amazing House - Great location

The house was perfect. Big thank you to the staff. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. The food was amazing. We caught a marlin and some Mahi one of the days the the staff grilled up some of it and made ceviche with the rest. We would definitely stay here again.

Trip of a Lifetime

We stayed here with friends and family for our Wedding. It was unbelievable in every way. Rebecca helped me with questions and activities from 6 months out all the way to the day of. All the staff is amazing. We had 2 under 2 years old with us who loved the pool, and the beach. But be aware the house isn't made with safety of little kids in mind. That being said it has everything anyone whose staying there will need. If we can make it happen, we'll be back someday. Thank you to everyone at Villa Del Mar for making our wedding trip unforgettable!

50th Birthday celebration with friends!

One word, AMAZING! Don't hesitate on booking this beautiful villa! The property and views are just spectacular! This house is so spacious that even staying with 25 friends didn't feel crowded! And the staff are the icing on the cake! Our cooks, Omar and Joel didn't make a dish we didn't love! Every single one of us enjoyed every meal they made and couldn't wait for the next! Make sure to try some of the Dominican dishes too, you won't be disappointed! Our bartender Jose was amazing, serving us every drink we wanted and making sure we had what we needed every day! He even packed our cooler for our boat trip! Miguel our driver was so sweet too and joined us on our waterfall hike to El Limon! As we hiked in the pouring rain he was right there guiding us down the trail safely! The cleaning ladies are like magicians, I rarely saw them but somehow every room was cleaned daily and on the last day washed our clothes!! We had masseuses come in two days and every single person said it was the best massage they ever had, so make sure to arrange that on your stay for sure! And I also have to mention Rebecca, the house manager. From the beginning she answered every question and helped me organize our stay! It's not easy planning for a large group but she did a fabulous job guiding me! She is a gem and it was so nice to meet her and her sweet new baby in person! It truly was a trip of a lifetime and I will never forget it!

Best 30th birthday ever! Transitioning back to real life after this will be difficult

This was absolutely, hands down, the most amazing experience ever. & I say experience because this is not just a house on a beach with a pool, endless bathrooms and amazing bedrooms facing the waterfront. This is a house more amazing than the pictures filled with the most wonderful, talented and fun staff. The chefs (Thomas, Omar and Joel) made us the most delicious food ever. Everyone enjoyed every single meal including our most picky eater. The bartenders (Jose and Joanna) made us the most yummy drinks and were ready to keeps the shots flowing for us when we were ready. On the mornings I may have indulged too much the previous night, Jose had a fresh coconut cut ready to drink so I could rehydrate. The drivers (Miguel and Aljeni) were so helpful in taking us into town as needed. Miguel took us to El Limon waterfall and was sweet enough to not only transport us but hike the fall with us after my group decided we were too stubborn to ride the mules and wanted to walk it instead. We wanted to go out in town and check out a festival going on and decided to go out clubbing after. Aljeni was sweet enough to take my rowdy group out where we had the best night drinking and dancing. The housekeepers are magicians! This was our running joke all week. It was extremely rare that we’d see them working but in what seemed like minutes from leaving our bedrooms and returning all would be placed back in order with fresh bedding, laundry and clean bathrooms. Everything was phenomenal! Other activities we did were take the catamaran tour. 10/10 recommend! Omar made us snacks to take on the boat and Joanna packed us some drinks. It was lovely visiting other beaches, swimming in the middle of the ocean and sun bathing on the boat all day. We had the masseuses come a few days so everyone in my group could get a massage or 2. Everyone really enjoyed their massages. A few of use decided to try reiki massages with a wonderful woman near SO beach club Rebecca recommend. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING EXPERIENCE! Highly recommend! A few things to note for future visitors. While very obvious from the pictures you may not realize just how open this property is. & with that openness comes all the critters. I’m not sure why I didn’t take the previous reviews serious when everyone complained about the mosquitos. BUT LEARN FROM MY MISTAKES AND TAKE IT SERIOUS! this was the worst part of the trip. We were all bit to nearly death by mosquitos. Bring your bug spray! It’s not optional.

Great venue to celebrate a milestone birthday

This feels like a private resort. Las Terrenas is amazing, but this house and staff completely change the game. Cannot say enough great things. Also, Rebecca is a fantastic host, and she can help you find whatever you might want or need to make your stay perfect.

Nothing like it

There were 27 of us at this Villa. It never felt crowded. The space is enormous. The house is tastefully decorated, very clean. It needs some updates, as it is beginning to show signs of age. The pool, beach and lawn space are magnificent. The beds on the lawn, a gorgeous place to take afternoon naps, even during rain, as you are well protected from the elements. The staff though, there are no words to describe Omar, Jose, Arjenis, Yenni & Bruni. Without them, this villa would be just another house. From the most delicious and fresh home cooked meals to the fruity concoctions of mixed drinks, the perfectly made beds and fresh towels in my room every day. The staff was beyond magnificent. Watch out for the pool area, the floors are dangerously slippery and we had quite a few near falls. The staircase needs a railing, it’s also completely open and an accident waiting to happen. I would visit again. It was a great space for a massive amount of people. The house manager Rebecca was great with helping connect me with nearby vendors for a few special requests. Villa Del Mar was a hit.

The Crown Jewel!

We celebrated my 50th birthday at Villa Del Mar and brought 15 of our close friends with us (17 adults total). It is located on a practically seclude beach and it is by far the largest beachfront in the area. The house is everything in the pictures as promised and more, but the true beauty of the house is the people. Our host, Rebecca, answered every tiny question my wife and I had. My wife will admit that she can be meticulous as it is the nature of her work, but Rebecca kept up and every demanding wish was fulfilled and upgraded. We asked for a restaurant and she brought us an incredible chef’s table experience that will never forget by Chef Alfredo Rueda. We asked for dancers and she got us dancers who taught us how to dance Merengue and Bachata. We asked for a cigar roller, and got an in-depth explanation on cigar rolling from a talented local cigar roller. The staff in the house is top notch, the cleaning ladies were extremely thorough and kind. The driver, Miguel, took a few guests to El Limon which was more work than they expected and he helped them up and down the crazy hike. Jose was loved by all our guests and served as our invaluable go-to-guy while making us delicious fresh fruit drinks that we could not get enough of. If we could have, we would have taken Omar home with us. We asked him only to make us traditional Dominican food for our entire trip. In the end, he had converted all 15 of our guests to Dominican food lovers - something that could not have imagined. The one watch out for next time that we noted was the mosquitos. Be sure to buy a bunch of bug spray when you get there. All in all, this was truly this was a trip of a life time, we are so thankful for this experience and for Rebecca and her team who really were the jewels in the crown of this gorgeous home.
