“The location is on a hill, away from traffic. The house is welcoming and completely remodeled. The swimming pool is heated, lounge chairs are comfortable, and a pergola is available if there is too much sun (see photo). The hosts are very friendly, and genuinely connecting to travelers. Continental breakfast is copious, and included melon de Cavaillon (the famous French version of Cantoloupe) and delicious home-made yogurt. “The city of Manosque isn't really worth a visit - I chose it thinking it was central to the lavender fields and close to the L'Occitane factory (I call it the Poughkeepsie of Provence...). I thought it would be a good idea to have a cheap hotel in the pedestrian section of town but what I hadn't taken into consideration is that the high cost of parking our rental car made this "budget" hotel more expensive than the Ibis on the outskirts of town. If I had it to do over I wouldn't stay at this……
