"I'll admit I wasn't thrilled the first hour after arriving, coming off a smaller, quieter private villa in Ubud and tired from an hour-long drive. That feeling didn't last. The Andaz turned out to be a genuinely excellent, quiet, high-quality stay. We booked two rooms for our family of four, which made things feel spacious (recommend this if your budget allows). Rooms had a spa-like decor, plenty of counter space, and a lovely balcony overlooking the quiet pool. The property doesn't have many pools, so if you want a big pool scene, the livelier Hyatt Regency next door (shared facilities) may suit better. Poolside service was attentive, if a bit slow. Food was a highlight: breakfast is à la carte, not buffet, and beautifully made (the mushroom pâté and soufflé pancake stood out). In-room dining was surprisingly good and reasonably priced. The shared spa and gym were serene and high-quality. Our kids loved the chef's cooking class, essentially private since they were the only two enrolled, making pandan crepes and mie goreng. WhatsApp made communicating with the hotel easy for bookings and requests. Recommend it, just give yourself a day to adjust if coming from a smaller property."

"The staff at the Bali Hilton are so happy and friendly, a real credit to the hotel. Whether they’re in restaurants, bars, concierge team, wherever, always smiling pleasant and helpful. The breakfast buffet would have to rate as one of the best I’ve experienced certainly in Bali, and quite likely further beyond. An incredible selection of Asian and European, the scrambled eggs, normally and absolute misery in a hotel buffet are superb. Silky, creamy, delicious. We ate several times at the tapas restaurants and still didn’t try all on offer. The pools were great for us as a couple, managing to find a spot away from families, with young kids, but definitely a paradise for those travelling with little ones, even big kids, will enjoy the water slide, I did!"

"We had a family room for 5. It was a bit tight but it worked for us. The large balcony provided extra living space and we made it work. We stayed 4 nights at the end of our 3 weeks in Bali. We just wanted a rest spoke where relaxing was the focus. My kids are 12 10 and 7 they enjoyed the pool slide and resort run pool side activities. We didn't use kids club. There were a lot of families and a lot of Aussie drinking. There is a small adults only section that was very quiet and good to relax away from all the noise of families but not to far away. Food options were good. We liked the Irish pub. We also had a photo shoot and were very happy with the photos. We walked to shopping centre and to the beach and along the waterfront."

"From the moment we arrived, we felt relaxed and welcome. We booked tanah gajah for our honeymoon and wish we had stayed for longer than 4 nights! The hotel has so much to offer - a tethered hot air balloon (worth every penny), professional photographer, rice field paddy tour and kedac dance nights. The staff were all brilliant and we slept amazingly well. We would definitely recommend the resort to anyone looking for a relaxing stay in Ubud."
