“Stayed at the Black Dog Inn in Bolton for two nights. The room itself was comfortable enough for the price, so no major complaints there. However, the overall experience was disappointing. The first night was a write-off in terms of sleep. Staff gave a late booking to a couple who had been drinking in the pub, and they stayed up most of the night with the TV on at a very high volume. “This is a good hotel built at a Services Area suitable for breaks in between journeys. Staying in for one night is nit a bad idea except that its location is not that easy to find.”

“Not the hotel but a party came back from Manchester at 1.00am and kept us up all night and we checked out at 4.30am and no offer of changing rooms or anything but sorry.”

“We stayed here for a night for a wedding reception. The shower wasn’t functioning properly and we could not close it completely. However, the worst part was it was full of mould. There was mould around the bath tub as well. The beds were ok. I would not stay here again.”

“It was pretty good overall. No light switch near the bed, the duvet was too heavy. I didn't like not having a key and it was a nuisance having to keep a note of codes and having to type them in every time you entered. Also, I didn't like receiving the codes at the last minute. But these are all minor points, overall it was good.”
