Dear Mike,Thank you for taking the time to share your stay experience on this platform. Yes, we had a major snowstorm producing a significant amount of snow before turning to sleet. Due to many local residents losing power and needing shelter for many days, those guests never left their parking spots allowing us enough room to clean up the individual spots this storm which is not typical but did happen. We truly are sorry you were impacted by this as it was unfair to you. I am the General Manager and was outside for two days straight shoveling and helping guests and would have been happy to help get you out if you needed assistance. While I cannot speak for all hotels, I can speak about working in many hotels for the last few decades and all of the hotels I have worked in have always require a credit card for an incidental deposit. We had two federal holidays in November where banks were closed an additional day which also can cause for an incidental authorization to get released back to you. I am sorry this upset you, we were not holding your money hostage and release it immediately at check-out however your banking establishment can take up to 10 business days to release.
