Nice clean, quiet room.
This was a brief stay on my way home from Tucson. The room was clean and quiet. I slept well and rose early. It was very good value for the money and just what I needed for the purpose.

I travel often & my expectations of small town, inexpensive motels are objectively reasonable, but this motel is significantly below standard. OYO Hotel Liberal, Kansas, implements policies that violate the ADA -staff interrogated & asked about disability. There’s a folder behind desk that states you can only have 1 service dog & sign states “Picture ID will be required for Service dog” I tried to take a photo, they quickly took it away & said it’s in the reservation- it’s not. Pursuant to ADA, staff can only ask if the dog is a service dog required bc of disability & what task the dog has been trained to perform, NOT allowed to ask what the disability is. People w/ disabilities are allowed more than 1 service animal to perform different tasks. DOJ doesn’t recognize certificates/IDs as proof that dog is a service animal. Also note there’s no area near the motel to take them out. Aside from being outdated, the room carpet is stained, ripped & falling apart. Bed linens are stained/dirty. Decor is broken. Heat is inadequate - we were freezing all night & decided to shower at our next stop because the bathroom was too cold (& dirty). Curtains didn’t fully shut, so I had to use a hair clip. Wifi doesn’t work at all - stated “OYO HOTEL No Internet Connection” You only get your $50 deposit back by bringing the room card to the office upon check-out. This is extremely inconvenient when leaving at 6:00AM & they make you stand outside when it’s 18 degrees for the entire process.

This OYO is a perfect place to stop while you're on the road. Got some rest and recovered for my return to the road. Stayed here a few times now and haven't been disappointed yet.

So it’s not the first time I stayed at this motel, but we had a larger room. AND the heater didn’t get turned off during the day while we were at work. The bathroom had no electrical outlets, and was extremely cold, the wall heater was disabled. Everything was bare bones to be honest. Room was pretty small, out dated, mattresses thin and hard. The tv was pretty tiny, and the cables were loose, which I had to re-tighten in order to be able to watch tv. The owners live on site, and seemed pretty nice, but again, with the outside temps being around 26 degrees at night, max 45 during the day, turning our heater off was very unkind, and it took 2 hours for the room to warm up. The bathroom….. never really warmed up. Talk about a shocking experience sitting down on the toilet seat!

Oyo in Liberal Kansas
This hotel is nothing, I repeat, nothing like the pics. We ordered two queens for four of us and we got doubles to start off. My partner is 6’3” so it wasn’t comfy. They only gave us two towels and we went to ask them and she started yelling at me saying I was trying to get over on her and they clearly saw my kids get out with us. Then she said she had to charge me $20 for my daughter bc she is 18 and she’s 16. And she’s taking it out of my deposit so i I said, fine, I need the towels and wash cloths. Then she kept saying I’m charging you and I said idc just tell me how much and I want the towels. Then we are relaxing and we see a roach walking between the beds st 1100 at night. This was a weekend trip, and we had plans for the water park, so we though this would be a cute motel for the weekend without a pool and the pics were so cute. Jus the outside is nice. And then we got up the next morning and opened up the window and when my son opened up the curtains, the guy owner was right in front of it with the cart but we didn’t have anyone around us. We just hurried up and loaded up and then when I was doing a walk through with him at the end, I saw a bed bug climbing up on the sheet, so we had to take our stuff and wash everything and I threw away the blanket my daughter had. I usually just keep quiet but do not stay here. They know what the conditions are the microwave and fridge did not work.

The facilities are really outdated but is clean, quiet, and the staff is wonderful. Our room had 3 beds and it was pretty cheap! If you just need a place to rest for the night, this is a great option.

When we got to the hotel most of the area was without power. Luckily the hotel had power but no internet connection. No biggie as we were going to be going to bed and leave early in the morning. They wanted to charge us a $50 refundable deposit. I have never ever had to pay a deposit before. We went to our room got settled infor the night and got up left early. After we left about an hour later i received a call from the hotel that they were going to charge us $10 for having a dog and $100 cleaning fee for the dog. We had no dog. He was instant that we did. He said he was going to send me a photo. About 20 mins later I received a video. He walked up and into the room. The door was already open you could not see the room number. As he walked in he showed an area from the linoleum to carpet there was dirt all around were they joined and it had dirt. I responded back stating 1 we have no pets. 2. I see no pet hair on the carpet. 3. I could not see the room # on the door. 4. The stuff in the area between the linoleum and the carpet was not there when we left. 5. If he would try and to charge us for something that we did not have. I will fight him with my bank and I will get an attorney and he will lose. My husband told me later that the window seal was dirty and hadn't been cleaned in awhile. The only think we left behind in the trash was empty water bottles and coffee grinds. I do not recommend this hotel. That's just my opinion.

Do not stay here! Check out time is supposed to be 11am but the owner came knocking on our door just after 9 am yelling at my husband saying we would not get our deposit back because he spit on the ground outside our room. And then he spit on my husband! He went in the room to check the room and decided he was just going to take 5 dollars from our deposit because we used a towel!!!! I don't know why they want to provide towels and then charge you for using one! My husband called the cops on the owner for spitting on him, it's on camera! The cops told him it's not illegal to spit on concrete. Pretty sure you can't just go around spitting on people though.

Comfortable Stay
This was a short stay on my way home from vacation. The room was great, the bed comfortable and the staff friendly. My only complaint was that I couldn't get the WiFi to work.

Booked online and was told they couldn’t find my reservation. Had to pay in cash more than what I paid for online. In the morning i did get my money back, but was frustrating to an already tired person. The room was super cold and it never warmed up enough to sleep properly. The beds were like rocks and the facilities were very dingy. This is what I get for looking for a cheap hotel to sleep for a few hours.

This is my second time staying here and probably my last. I wanted to book this online on the app, but the manager wanted me to book through him. We got into an argument over where I should book it and tried to explain the rewards night, but he was super angry. The room that was available through Hotels.com wasn't even available in-person, so instead of a king bed, they put me in a room with two beds. For check out, I'm staying waiting to check out because the manager left and it seems as if I will be waiting over 15 minutes. The room conditions are okay, but there were small holes in my curtain and my restroom door wouldn't close all of the way. I don't want to stay in a place that is not okay with me making reservations online.

For the price it was ok, however, will not stay again. Internet didn’t work, poor lighting. Woman at desk had a poor approach meeting customers. Slapped a notice on counter charging a $50 security on our card. When we turned in key card in the morning, somebody went to the room before she’d credited my card. Place was ridiculously a dump to charge a deposit, like I said,for the price I placed it average,

Staff was rude. $50 cash deposit required on check in. To get deposit back they walked to my room to check it. They were upset because I moved the refrigerator to block the door which didn’t have a deadbolt lock, so my granddaughter couldn’t open it. Beds not very comfortable.
