"The grounds are expansive and absolutely beautiful. We saw monkeys, giant green macaws and toucans on the property. The location - between Playa Cocles and Playa Chiquita - is perfect. Both restaurants on the property were great - we especially loved the cocktails and ceviche at Spice House. We stayed in a two-story family villa. There was plenty of room for 3 teenaged boys and 2 adults. The bedrooms were air-conditioned and the downstairs was cool and comfortable with just the windows and fans. The staff was courteous and the breakfast delivered to our room each day was such a treat! Highly recommend this hotel to families. It would also be comfortable for seniors since there are first floor rooms and the grounds are flat and easy to get around. We loved it."

"This was definitely an experience our family will not forget. Rustic and open jungle living and even had the property dog spend time with us which we enjoyed. Beautiful private beach which was a bit of a trek but also part of the experience."

"From the moment i arrived at the property i felt a peaceful energy. the aesthetic of the hotel was my favorite, the beach was beautiful, loved the room. I was solo traveling, but didn’t feel alone at all. Staff made me feel at home. They truly outdid themselves very attentive and willing to help in anything you need! Ketzy at the reception so kind and helpful going out of her way! I recommend getting a massage by Michelle she was amazing worth every penny. At the bar and grill food was delicious and drinks. Brixie so sweet and attentive took great care of me and all the waitresses . I loved my stay there it was everything I needed I 100% recommend this hotel. And I would totally come back! It fits the puerto viejo pura vida vibe! Thank you hotel banana azul for an amazing time!"

"The gore is a beautiful oasis on an unsuspecting street. Our room was beautiful, clean and cozy (but not too small)! The staff make you feel welcome and the breakfast was delicious. The location is perfect, a short walk to the main shops and restaurants. There’s nothing more I could have asked for!"

The location is perfect, just steps from the beach and close enough to enjoy everything Puerto Viejo has to offer while still feeling like a private oasis.
