"This hotel has so much potential unfortunately it wasn’t to the normal standard that a three star German hotel is. The restaurant was open from 6 pm till 8 pm for dinner if you arrive at 7:45 pm it’s too late and that is ridiculous as for breakfasts The cheeses and hams and eggs weren’t replenished so choice was greatly limited. The decor when you get into the hotel is like stepping back into the 1980s or early 90s where you imagine men wearing jackets with the sleeves rolled up it was quite an...

"Very central to everything. Quiet."

"We were absolutely delighted by the warm and kind welcome upon arrival on Saturday night by a super kind and competent receptionist who took the time to chat to our children and made all of us very welcome. The check-out was also smooth and pleasant and the waitresses/waiters during breakfast were also professional and kind. Please keep up working with and supporting your excellent staff!"

"The staff were excellent. I don’t speak German and their English was very good. It’s a lovely hotel in a lovely town. However, next time I would book a double room because the single was very small (like Japanese small). And only had one plug socket which was nowhere near the desk. "

"Restaurant run well- great waiting staff recommended great meal with great german beer made the evening"

"Wir hatten im Waldhotel Bärenstein eine schöne Zeit verbracht. Wir hatten ein schönes Zimmer. Mit dem Personal waren wir sehr zufrieden. Das einzige was von uns zu bemängeln war ist das Abendessen. Wir hatten das Gefühl das Essen war nicht frisch gekocht sondern aufgewärmt. "

"A traditional German hotel in a rural setting. The room was clean and spacious with the bounse of a balcony. The restaurant was not open on our first night (Thursday). We did have a good meal the following evening. Continental breakfast was good. There is also ample free parking. This hotel is one we would return too."

"Terrible, dirty and old. "

"Goede ontvangst bij de receptie. Ruime suite. Goed ontbijt. Wel wat last van straatgeluiden."

"Excellent hotel. Owners know how to run such a business."

"A very nice place to stay. Good breakfast, No noisy Musik, but no English speaking Channels on TV."

"Super clean hotel. Bed was extremely comfy. Staff was attentive and helpful. Totally recommended! "

"Loved the breakfast, room was very clean"

"Lovely hotel. Nice breakfast. Excellent surroundings. "

"This property offers some more hotel-room style rooms, but I stayed in a nicely furnished and somewhat spacious appartment-type accomodation in the old town of Detmold. "

"Excellence hotel I ever been, nice environment and nice food "

"Super price quality ratio! "

"The Hotel is nice and the rooms are clean. The only problem is the breakfast in the morning. Tables will not be cleaned when guests are finished and difficult to find someone from the staff when you have a question or to need something. The breakfast basic. The food in the restaurant was ok. "

"Nice place to stay close to Bielelfed"
