“I never had of Newcastle West before, but if you are ever in this town, this is the place to be. My wife considered the breakfast "the best Irish breakfast in Ireland," and who am I to disagree? We truly enjoyed our stay (and the breakfast) as well the friendly staff including (especially Derek the manager). We need disability-friendly accommodations, and this hotel, in this regard, was a great place to stay. The true test of any hotel, is "Would you go back?," and we would gladly come back……

“The hotel did not have an elevator. The hotel also had a fabulous vintage charm and vibe about it. It was beautiful and the whole staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was great. The location is decent.”

“This reservation was a saving grace after a VRBO reservation was ignored by the owner in Dingle. This is a wonderful property and the manager is a gentleman without equal. He was upset at the cost we had been charged and adjusted it to my advantage as it should have been. The room was great and the breakfast was superb. “We thoroughly enjoyed out two night stay at Barrow Lodge from the minute we arrived to when we left. Clodagh is an exceptional hostess, giving us the warmest welcome, and really useful advice on where to go for food and what to see. The room was big, clean with a lovely view of the estuary. Breakfast was fabulous. We've been recommending it to everyone since we left as it's a little gem and we'd definitely go back. If you're in the area, stay here!”

“Very wonderful location and beautiful hotel. The card key access locations straight off the elevator (also card key access) felt secure but a little inconvenient. The room was clean, the beds were some of the comfiest I've slept in, and the AC worked well. Great stay.”

“It's was ok, felt a little dated. Bed was clean and comfortable. Bathroom was a shower over the bath, which I personally don't really like. Quite noisy from the road too. We ate in the restaurant and the food was delicious and staff great. The main gripe was really bad water groaning... So when ever someone turned a tap on, you could hear this loan deep groan! And yes defo water, not a guest! Ha ha. The room doors all slam quite hard so it was generally quite noisy during the evening and……

“Staff are very helpful and willing to accommodate any requests. We are group of 4 families and the owner arranged kitchen staff to make breakfast to our liking and packed for some of our members who could not be on site for breakfast. We would definitely recommend the place without hesitation. ”

“This is a beautiful hotel, rooms are spacious and clean and there are lots of little nooks and cranny’s to sit quietly if you wish. The bar was busy and we ate there. The service was very good and the food, exceptional. Breakfast too was very good. Overall, a good experience but at a higher than necessary price. Also, there is no pool at this hotel and no pool next door, as suggested. You have access to a pool but that’s a five min drive away, so maybe they do not need to mention a pool at all.……
