Althorp Inn and its neighbours The Althorp Inn, also known as the Fox and Hounds, is at the far end of the row. Next to it is the Post Office then a private house, all in the local ironstone with thatched rooves.

The tree on the hill From a north-south byway, the view west is drawn to the lone tree on the hill, in the next square. In this square, mainly arable farmland with a cereal crop just developing. The hedgerow in the middle distance, which really does slope like that, is roughly the western boundary of the square.
