Cardinal Cove is the perfect gateway to your Lake Gaston experience! This beautiful property boasts MAIN LAKE VIEWS from a PROTECTED COVE- the BEST OF BOTH WORLDS! As soon as you enter the home you are greeted with an amazing view of the main lake from every room in the house. The well-thought-out design of the home is spread across three levels with ample room for multiple families to spread out and enjoy, yet cozy enough for comfortable relaxation. Immediately, you will be drawn to the ever-present, MAJESTIC MAIN LAKE VIEWS from every bedroom and living space in the house! The private dock only steps from the house down the gently sloping lot is in a protected cove. Being just steps from the water allows for endless fun and enjoyment including swimming, floating (multiple floats, noodles, etc. provided), kayaking (2 provided), paddle boarding (1 provided), boating, tubing, fishing, etc. Others around the lake will have no problem finding you for an evening get together with friends.
The home offers 5 BEDROOMS and 3.5 BATHROOMS. TWO MASTER SUITES with en suite bathrooms and walk-in closets (and great views of the lake) are available. Groups of kids can be separated into either of TWO BUNK ROOMS, making this a perfect location for multiple families (extra cot provided for use as needed). Adults will appreciate that even with a large group, the sleeping and common spaces allow for a feeling of privacy and discretion.
Enjoy the lakeside firepit (NEW ADIRONDACK CHAIRS AND FIRE PIT FOR 2021) and s’mores on those chilly evenings. Cornhole boards are also provided for your enjoyment. Relax in the hammock with a good book. A Weber gas grill is also available for your cookouts. Complimentary high-speed internet is provided.
The main master with a king bed and attached bathroom is on the main level. Also on the main level is the living room (with TV and Apple TV), kitchen and sunroom/dining room. Off the main level enjoy the well-appointed and comfortable screened porch with cozy furniture and AMAZING VIEWS of the lake, plus additional deck space for lounging and dining. A new OUTDOOR BAR overlooking the lake with seating for 4 has been added on the deck for 2021!
The lower level has a 2ND MASTER with queen bed, attached bathroom and walk-in closet. A furnished game room/family room equipped with a large sectional, fireplace, TV (with Amazon Firestick) foosball table (NEW FOOSBALL TABLE FOR 2021) and board games along with a game table for your enjoyment. An additional bedroom with a set of bunkbeds is also located on the lower level. The lower level walks out to a covered patio for outdoor dining, just steps to the lake. You will find two more very large bedrooms (with incredible views of the main lake) upstairs with an additional full bathroom. One of the upstairs bedrooms features a comfortable queen bed and full furnishings, with the other upstairs bedroom set up as a bunk room to sleep 5 (two sets of bunk beds: one twin over twin, and one twin over full).

Parking is never an issue with a three private driveways converging in two circle drives throughout the shaded property. No dusty gravel roads to the property either as we have paved roads throughout the neighborhood. Plus there is plenty of room to park you boat trailer.
All of our guests are invited to use one of the 2 KAYAKS and 1 PADDLEBOARD provided for exploring the nearby coves. We do provide a limited supply of life jackets with the kayaks. However, you may want to bring your own life jackets to ensure that "just right" fit for everyone (especially small children!).
The large dock has deep clean water with a firm bottom, and offers two areas for boat tie-up for your use. Steps at the water’s edge allow for gradual entry to the water in about 2 to 3 feet of water, or feel free to jump in off the end of the dock into 6+ feet of water. The calm water cove allows for safe swimming, floating, kayaking and paddle-boarding for worry free water play. Swim at your own risk. NO DIVING!
You will also find a refrigerator at the boathouse for your convenience. Also provided at the dock: multiple inflatable water toys, floating saddles, fishing gear, sun loungers, teak furniture, umbrellas and a portable speaker.
PETS WELCOME! The property even includes a FENCED DOGGIE PARK on-site in the back yard by the water! PET POLICY: well-behaved and house-trained dogs allowed (maximum 2 dogs; no cats please). Dogs must be at least one year of age, neutered/spayed, up-to-date on rabies and other vaccinations, and free of fleas/ticks. Guests must pick up after pets and properly dispose of waste. Pet fee (non-refundable): $125 for first dog, $75 for second dog. Please provide details about dogs to owners prior to arrival.
You are in a PRIME location on the North side of the main channel and CLOSE TO EVERYTHING. Only 4 MILES to Food Lion, ABC Liquor Store, Dollar Store, Lake Gaston Pizza, Hwy 55 Burgers, Subway, LKG Coffee, Ace Hardware and more. By water you are just a few minutes to the Eaton's Ferry Bridge and the local waterfront restaurants (Water's View Restaurant and The Pointe Restaurant). There is a public boat ramp only two miles from the house (by land and water). Southpointe Marina and Washburn’s Marina are close by for your fuel and boating convenience.
Guests coming from the North or South using the I-85 corridor will be pleasantly surprised by the accessibility from major metro areas (about 1 to 1.5 hours from Raleigh and Richmond).
Nearby are churches, a plant nursery, golf course, mini golf, farmers market, and flea market. Our house is a good base for a visit to Rosemont of Virginia Vineyards and Winery.
Any jet skis and boats on the boat lifts at the boat house are property of the owners, not to be tampered with, and not for use by renters. There are numerous boat rental companies on the lake for your convenience.
Please note that the house is on a SEPTIC SYSTEM. Please DO NOT flush anything except HUMAN WASTE and TOILET PAPER!
