“The cottage is beautiful, immaculately clean, very comfortable, well equipped, and spacious with 3 bedrooms snd two bathrooms. I would describe it as a little gem with oodles of character. Eileen and Richard are wonderful hosts. Such lovely people and gave great tips about where to go and where best to park. Got to mention Humphrey, Maple and Syrup - the adorable ducks! The cottage is in a great location to see Cumbria, the Lake District, Northumberland, and Dumfries & Galloway. Absolutely……

“We had an enjoyable stay in a clean cosy place but the tiny touches were missing that we have become accustomed to using other holiday booking platforms (such as toilet roll and soap). The booking process through vrbo however was not smooth and the photographs of the accommodation were very misleading, so it's unlikely I'll use vrbo again. I spent over 2 hours finding out who to pay (not vrbo it turns out!), struggled to simply confirm the stay and find out how to access the info to get into……

“A truly relaxing stay in a well equipped cottage on the owners farm. Peaceful and beautiful surroundings and such a very warm welcome from Lorna & Jim. We couldn’t fault any of it. Thank you for your wonderful hospitality. ”

“Was left over chinese takeaway in fridge. Bed sheets were disgusting, lots of hairs and stains. Cups were unwashed. Decking was so slippy, green molud, nearly had a bad fall. Fold away chairs in main bedroom which seems to be from outside had spider nets. We came home after being there few hours and was meant to stay 4 nights. We were so disappointed, angry, deflated as saved up our hard earned cash for our 4 nights away and ended us coming home before we should have. ”

“Lovely quite country location, off-street parking & all the comforts of home. Near train station if public transport is required, however noise from trains was not an issue. 'The stables is ideal for a couple with small kitchen if wanting to cook.”

“Didn't actually manage to stay here and had to book alternative accommodation at short notice. Despite checking in online earlier that morning and advising of expected arrival time, I didn't receive the code for the lock box and all attempts at contacting the host failed, no response to phone calls or text messages, in fact the host declined my calls on numerous occasions. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED that this host left a solo female traveler stood outside in the rain and in the dark for over an hour……

“Property was spotless, beds comfortable, Wi-Fi very good, kitchen well equipped, though none of the odds and end like salt and pepper often found in a self catering place so take absolutely everything you need with you. Perfect wee village- pub excellent with a limited choice of pretty good pub grub and less than a 100yard stagger away! Lovely walks on the doorstep and beautiful scenery, and sheep.”
