Hotel El Chasqui

"The hotel is in a great location, within walking distance from the train station, the room was clean and comfortable. The staff was very helpful and stored our bags for free because we were coming back to stay another night after Machu Picchu. The coffee was very good and breakfast was good. I would recommend this hotel."

"We stayed 1 night after Machu. It’s a solid little hotel. Excellent location and nice room. The view outside the window was of the Fortress! Very cool! There was complementary water bottles, a hot pot and various teas in the room, which was nice. My sheets were crisp and clean but my daughter said hers were not? The beds were very comfortable. We slept with the window open and it was perfect weather. The water situation was interesting. We had to put the knobs in a precise alignment for the water to turn off completely and there was NO WATER for part of the day. The manager said it would be back on at 5:00. It seems like it’s a common occurrence. It worked out fine because we were gone from the room and it was back on when we returned. The breakfast was the usual fair. The bread everywhere in Peru is amazing. The cook made an omelette with onions at our request and it was fantastic! They were kind enough to store our luggage. Overall good experience."
