Most Excellent beach stay

The property was very clean, easy to find, and boredom should NOT be an issue. Plenty of things to do there. It’s a short walk to the beach.We mainly played pool and the arcade machine that’s is there.

Family Getaway

Great place for 7 people. We were able to walk from the house to the beach for clam digging and walking. It rained the whole time we were there and all the games, pool, ping pong, etc were nice to have.

Perfect for family with teenagers

The house was great! Adults could be upstairs while our teenagers are downstairs playing ping pong, pool, PlayStation, watch movies, and play other games. We played volleyball when it was nice out. That was also a fun activity too! The beach is a short trail walk with our dogs. It was a nice time and memories in the making!

The accommodations were perfect for our party. Just a couple of things we noticed. There was no mop or dustpan, and little to no cleaning supplies but we made do.

First, when did dish clothes become an amenity. A fuse tripped three times, making it so the toilets didn't work. Too much of anything would clog septic so you had to wipe dishes before cleaning. The pictures you show are misleading. they make the house look bigger. The trundle bed was a closet. Their is a 4 inch step up going into the two downstairs bedrooms that you trip on. The down stairs bathroom was shot thru a filter to make it look clean. Very disappointed in house.

Knole Guest House

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house we typically rent in Long Beach was unavailable so we decided to give the Knole Guest House a try. I was a bit wary about the fact that there are two separate living quarters, but it was PERFECT as we were traveling with a 10 month old. We were able to cook meals and converse normally downstairs while she was sleeping with the monitor on upstairs. Perfect!

Christmas at Knole Guest House

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My husband and I (and our dog) enjoyed our stay at Knole Guest House. We’ve stayed at this property several times before, and have always enjoyed it. The location is quiet and peaceful..you can see the ocean in over the dunes. The guest house has been updated since our stay two or three years ago. The new furniture, TV etc are much appreciated. The kitchen is fully equipped. The management company is highly professional which is a nice plus!

We were fortunate to be there during warm temperatures and loved the deck. However, the deck furniture was cheap plastic and very uncomfortable. The living room furniture was also very warn and had holes in it. For what we paid I expected much nicer furnishings in the home. If renting again I would still consider this home for the excellent location it has.

Charming Extra

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had our family reunion in August and stayed in the Knole House and Guest House to accommodate our 20 family members. The upstairs of the Guest House is quite charming with a view deck and it is very light filled. The downstairs was recently finished in a more contemporary style with a rec-room vibe. Both have fully stocked kitchens and laundry. Our stay was wonderful and the location among the dunes at the beach was awesome...very private...but close to town. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!!!

Lovely beach rental...

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Very, very clean rental and looks just as pictured. Close to the beach with few people around so almost like having a private beach. Loved the fire pit area and had a fantastic time there with extended family on our last night! The picture shows both levels of the Guest House and we assumed the rental included both of them...unfortunately, we assumed wrong. :( With five adults and one teenager, it was a bit cramped at times when all of us were there. This rental is best for two couples or 4 people or less. Overall, we had a fantastic experience...really loved being so close to the beach! :)

Comfortable and close to the beach

My husband and I and our 3yr old and 9 mo old stayed for 6 days and had a great time. The house was very clean and super well stocked with anything you could want for the kitchen and for playing in the sand. Our friends came a few days in and stayed in the downstairs unit. It was great to have separate space for our families, but still be so close we could put the babies to bed and bring a monitor downstairs to hang out. Only negative aspect for us was that the furnishings upstairs are obviously pretty old and the beds weren't very comfortable. It seems like the downstairs has been updated with new beds and appliances and everything, but upstairs hasn't been done yet. It's in need of some cosmetic repairs and more comfy furniture. The beach is just a short walk, and the sunsets are amazing from upstairs. The view is nice, but there is a giant house between the guest house and the beach, so it's not the unobstructed view I expected. Overall, perfect for a group of friends with or without kids. We would def stay here again.

July Long Beach vacation

I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Enjoyed the house, the location and the history. Very well appointed, with good quality and well planned kitchen stuff. We loved the decorative touches. We visited both parks in the area, as well as the beach and some wonderful local restaurants. Also visited Astoria and "The Column" which is a nice drive - about 20 minutes? - over a beautiful bridge. We will probably return, but would choose the big house which has more bedrooms and better views.We were unable to find bed linens for the two living room beds. Sheets we found did not fit. Blankets/quilts stored in closets need to be laundered. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, and will think about coming back to stay in the big house. It was difficult to use the DVD player in LR because inputs were blocked by the TV wall hanger. Manager was very responsive and brought a new DVD player, but the problem was blocked hookups.

Unbelievably bad management staff, but the beach was nice. I refused to let it ruin my trip!

The upstairs was nice, clean. Besides being nearly inaccessible, the downstairs smelled like urine and cigarettes. Upon arrival, the outdoor furniture was turned upside down and scattered around. There was an enormous amount of junk piled around the property. I had booked the reservation for 3 adults & 2 small dogs. My guests couldn't make it, so I arrived with just the doggies. I called to tell the property manager, Dabra, that the downstairs door wouldn't open, she said they knew it didn't work and there was nothing they could do about it; needed to order a new door. No apology. I used WD40 to get the lock open, but couldn't stay in that part of the house due to the horrible smell. Then, when the keypad for entry upstairs stopped working, I called the office again and asked them to reset the code. That's when the staff told me THEY DON'T KNOW, HOW BECAUSE THEY NEVER RESET THE CODES - NOT EVEN IN-BETWEEN GUESTS. What. So anyone that's ever stayed there can return at anytime and enter. On the last day, the water stopped working. I called the office (were very annoyed with me by now) said that there was nothing they could do, again, but they'd send over Dabra - the manager. I asked that they please not send her, as our conversations hadn't gone well. I was pretty upset about things so far - had used some expletives... I was so in shock at her attitude about the door lock, the smell, the keypad, etc. that I figured I'd rather deal with 'no water' than be face-to-face with whatever body matched the voice on the end of the line. Within minutes she was /banging/ on the front door. I didn't answer. My dogs barked while she was knocking. About 5 minutes later, I got a text from her saying that I hadn't disclosed I had dogs - which I ABSOLUTELY did. She then said she called the owner, Robbie and he said to charge my card for an additional fee, which she did. This alerted me to the fact that their security cameras also don't work. If they had, they'd have seen me and my dogs running around outside for the last two days. I had paid for late check out for 1 rather than 11. Due to the water not working, it looked like I wasn't going to be able to do the few dishes left in the sink. Then, just as I was packing up the last things, the water started to work. I spend a few minutes to do the dishes. Check out was at 1:00. At 1:09 Dabra arrived. She said she was CALLING THE POLICE because I wasn't out on time. 9 minutes. Never been treated worse.... :((
