Farnton Hill Gallops, Long Riston, East Riding of Yorkshire, England. A training course for race horses has existed at Farnton Hill since the 19th century. A track of sand mixed with wool now runs alongside the public footpath between Long Riston and the parish boundary with Rise at the southeast corner of Farnton Plantations.

St Margaret's Church, Long Riston, East Riding of Yorkshire, England. A church has existed at Long Riston since before 1170 and was called St Margaret's by 1434. Like most English churches it has been much altered over the centuries. The tower was added in the 14th century and restored in 1881. Lovely, clean apartment. Excellent and prompt communication via telephone. Spacious and modern. Only downside was parking, there are 11 spots for 20 units, not advertised on expedia. You didn't find out til after pre check-in which caused some headache. But when we got there, parking lot was empty ...

Sandholme Viaduct, Leven, East Riding of Yorkshire, England. The brick parapet visible in the centre of the picture is where the Leven Canal crosses over the Burshill and Barff Drain. The three and a quarter mile long canal links Leven with the River Hull. It operated between 1805 and 1935 but is now closed to traffic and designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest.
