With fantastic 180 ocean views, there is more than just a few reasons Magnum is one of the most popular, affordable family holiday destinations in Lorne. Just a two-minute walk to one of Lorne's best beaches, the home offers guests a warm comfortable place to call home.
Set across two stories and with multiple living zones inside and out, the home includes 4 large bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a spacious open plan living/dining and kitchen and multiple balconies. For the onshore days the home also has a protected rear deck to keep up the rays away from the wind.
Other features include wood fire, Wifi, Bluetooth sound bar, and best of all, pet and child friendly. The main heart of town is 2 minute drive or 15-20min stroll along the ocean walk.
Always well presented, the home is far from pretentious. It is simply a brilliant place to kick back and relax.

Good size but carpets not clean and not cleaned properly. Driveway inaccessible in wet weather. Well equipped for large group and great views and location.

Great view and location.
We had a group so it was the perfect size for us. Had everything we needed. View was fantastic so we had a lovely night sitting out on the balcony having a few drinks and tunes.
My only disappointment was the cleanliness. I found myself walking around with the spray n wipe bottle getting rid of as much as I could off the walls (and I’m not a clean freak). The doonas left for use on beds had stains on them so we didn’t feel comfortable using them.
I really would love to book it again if it has had a good clean.

Great views!
We were a group of 7 (4 adults and 3 kids) and had a very enjoyable stay at Magnum holiday house. The views were magnificent, we even saw dolphins the first morning, and we enjoyed seeing the cockatoos and kookaburras on the balcony each day.
The kitchen was very well equipped, had all the equipment and utensils that you could need to cook a meal.
The showers were a bit dated and the shower heads tended to flop down as the shower was turned on, which was a little annoying. We put a night light in the downstairs bathroom because it was pitch black at night, having no windows, and it meant the kids could get up at night without putting on the overhead lights. It would be nice if locks were installed in the bathrooms. The upstairs bathroom had no privacy at all, being the only bathroom for the upstairs area where the living area/kitchen was located.
The bedrooms were comfortable and spacious. If you are travelling with a few families bear in mind that the 2 bunk bedroom can only access the downstairs bathroom through the tri-bunk bedroom.
The steep driveway was a bit daunting at first, but we quickly got used to it.
The location of the house is great. Just a couple of minutes drive to Lorne and a few minutes walk to the beach.
Lovely outlook, but the wet ramp was dangerous and impossible for a front wheel drive vehicle. Place was clean and well presented. A few minor things such as the bin drawer in the kitchen very stiff to use. The steps are very creaky and wake people up. The pantry doors in kitchen very squeaky too. Plenty of firewood and the heating was adequate, although the split system in the main living area didn’t seem to put out a lot of heat so might need some attention. The parking issue of one car only seemed odd and as it turned out only one of our cars could get up the ramp. We received a welcome text from the owners when we arrived followed by a request not to have more than one car in the parking area. I responded saying that this sounded odd since there seemed to be room for two, but received no reply or explanation. The street parking alternative was very muddy and had a huge puddle near the drivers door. This alternative parking issue needs to be addressed. A big negative was no linen supplied. After a three hour drive the last thing you want to be doing is making beds!! Overall the cost of this place plus the linen seemed too high for what is on offer. Even for Lorne it seems poor value for money. We enjoyed our stay though, but there are far better places for the money in Lorne. Will probably not seek to book here again. I have tried to be very fair with this feedback and would like some feedback on my feedback.
we stayed with another family with a total of 4 adults and 5 kids. the house was a good size for these numbers and the facilities were fine. excellent heating in winter and the fire in the lounge room was wonderful. terrific view and you can hear the waves crashing from all areas of the house which was a beautiful soundtrack. it’s a great house for a weekend and didn’t feel too small. be aware there isn’t any linen or many extras like toilet paper, oil, salt, pepper, etc so you need to bring pretty much anything extra. it’s advertised as such so not a criticism just something to be aware of. we loved this house and thoroughly enjoyed our time there
Magnum is in a great location within easy walking distance from the beach and a flat walk in to town. It was spacious and well equipped for easy living. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Magnum.
Fantastic house in great location, right opposite the beach. Beautiful to hear the waves and have the ocean view on tap. A spacious house, and really well appointed for families who are wanting to cook, needing the laundry for kids clothes etc.. The fire was perfect for the chilly nights. A great stay.
Our original booking was postponed due to another lockdown. However, we were grateful of the simple process of rebooking the new dates, which could not come at a better time. The weather was perfect - not too hot, not too cold - and the house fitted our family comfortably. We took pleasure in the sounds and views of the ocean and the lovely walk to the town centre. Only minor issues with the house were the broken lock on the upstairs bathroom and the second door to the balcony not opening. Overall, a wonderful mini family trip.
First time in Lorne, we loved it. The place was very nice, and the agents were great. We had a late check out which was the best part as it makes a big difference to big families having extra few hours to check out.
Great spot for the whole family including the pooch!
Ample and very clean accommodation, the sight and sound of the ocean on your doorstep, and a beautiful short stroll to township - we took the scenic route via the beach. We enjoyed warm days and cool nights so we loved the wood fire at night.
All felt at home straight away including our dog! If you need a secure yard for your pooch then this won't suit - but for us it was just perfect - we will definitely be back!
My family had their first visit to Australia and down the Great Ocean Road and they loved their time at the MAGNUM! Great location with view, perfect fire place for the time of the year. Plenty of space. Would love to return for another holiday in the future!

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to stay at your property.
We were very satisfied with the property overall, however the only thing that could be fixedly are the bathroom/ toilet locks as the rooms are to be shared between the bedrooms / living area an a bit more privacy is required.

Great house with stunning view over the ocean and the sunrise in the morning! Really enjoyed our stay as a lifesaving club down for a competition weekend.
