“My wife and I stayed for a weekend in the Bourbon Barrel Cottages. It was such an excellent experience. The owners had fantastic communication. It was super easy to check-in and out.Our cottage was extremely clean and modern. “We had a great stay at the Bourbon Oak Smokehouse. Robert and family were quick to communicate, both with guidance about the house and about things to do and places to go in Bardstown. The house was neat and clean, and while there are imperfections, they simply add to the charm of a historic home. The house is within a short drive (though it can definitely be walked) to downtown Bardstown with all its shops, bars, and restaurants. It sits just far enough from the main street to be private and……

“Beautiful land and venue with great location! Absolutely loved those aspects and would’ve given it more stars if there were no concerns. The only issues we had were regarding cleanliness (a very strong mold smell resulting from a kitchen sink leak in the cabinet below) and pest infestations in the kitchen. Both were communicated to the property manager who advised they relayed them to the owners. We made it work as we weren’t at the house much at all, but it would have been very nice to receive……

“This was the perfect place to get away, relax on the porch overlooking a special spot in the creek, and play in the water. We watched movies on VHS, listened to cds, and cooked our meals. We had everything we needed, felt safe and welcomed, and left recharged. Definitely returning!”

“First of all, let me say that I would give this place 10 stars if that were possible. We have stayed many places that have been wonderful and unique, but if we only ever stayed one place this would be it.As you might imagine in a place with little hobbit hole like rooms much of the decor somehow relates to Lord of the Rings.
