Absolutely fabulous experience. The staff were all so incredibly friendly and helpful, the rooms were immaculate and our guide on our game drives was exceptional and very knowledgeble. The food was really tasty and there were lots of choices. I would definitely recommend this venue.
We just completed our stay at Mara Intrepid camp. It was an unforgettable experience! Great location right on the Talek River. Excellent food with lots of options (plus a full bar), and the staff really go out of their way to ensure the comfort of each and every guest. The tents have lots of space and all the comforts we are used to at home. If you’re booking a safari game drive with them, do insist on a Toyota Land Cruiser over the Land Rover.
we did your honeymoon here and it was the most amazing experience! can't thank the staff here enough for making super memorable. They should let guests know that are booking that "full board" means fine dining because we were not expecting such high quality food and service. will visit this place again. For game drives make sure you go with Dominic he was amazing!
I had the perfect stay at Mara Intrepids. The rooms were charming and the food was delicious. But what really makes the camp special is the people. Everyone was so kind and welcoming and I felt like I was part of a big family even though I was traveling alone. Our guide Ezekiel was magnificent and Lawrence took great care of me in the dining room every day (even charging my phone daily). I can’t wait to return.

Such a great lodge with nice hospitality, the staffs are in general very friendly. The lodge arranged a professional guide giving us the game drives, very well-knowledged for different information about the habitat of animals. We learnt a lot through him! Also, the food that the restaurant served is very nice, staffs are really welcoming that makes you feel like home.
Let me start by thanking our guide Ezekiel! He was one of a kind and just made our stay enjoyable. When i come back i definitely want him as my guide.
The camp was great but its the staff that made it what it is, our room attendant Samuel was one of a kind, always had a smile on his face. Asanteni sana
This was a truly magical experience. Our driver Michael had a huge amount of knowledge of the Mara and the animals and we saw everything we could have wanted and more! It was wonderful being able to follow the same lions for 3 days and see what they get up to.
All the staff were exceptional at the lodge. Our waiter Ngala was very pleasant and helpful.
I also had an excellent massage at the lodge and it’s highly recommended to help relax between those bumpy game drives.
Excellent all around except the front desk was challenged with being able to have concise and direct communication on multiple occasions. One or two misunderstanding is acceptable, however, this was a chronic issue. For that reason, I will not return. That is unacceptable at this price point to have chronic and constant misunderstandings.

Not really what you pay for
The camp was very nice and the tent is comfortable. Staff were very attentive, especially after an initial negative experience. Food was good but nothing special. Tea, coffee and chocolate were cheap/instant brands and water is not included (first time for me). The condition of the tent is ok, but for the price i would have expected better. Shower head was dirty (even had a spider web) and the shelves were covered with rust. There was also some dirt around the desk area. My first safari was 40 mins late and they lied about trying to get me another driver. Honestly, this is not the service nor the hotel condition that would expect at this price range.
We had a lovely stay at Mara Intrepids. The location is beautiful, food excellent and the staff incredibly friendly and chatty. I would recommend specifically requesting a river view as some views are better than others, and giving your bed preference (either a double or two singles) to avoid disappointment.
The place is amazing, service is excellent, employees are very kind and helpful.
We got stuck driving our way to the hotel, we contacted them and they saved us.
What is their to say superb excellent exceeding all expectations .Simon picked us up from the airstrip and was our game driver he’s exceptional , professional , calmness personified. Daisy and her colleague welcomed us with the warmest of smiles and most precious refreshing damp towel and juice . Daisy was lovely always smiling throughout our stay as was all the staff so welcoming . Clifford the security was wonderful and the gate security as well .Eric the barman made my day with my local treat from home helping with a little tummy problem I had and he was superb throughout once again the smiling it’s infectious thinking about the staff now makes me smile . Ah my chef Mathew what can say wish I could carry Mathew around he has the broadest most welcoming smile and pleasant face . His colleague Tom was great too helping my lady out with special request . Mary the head of camp was exceptional making the night special with great birthday celebration with lovely cake .Jonathan our main meal attendant was always jovial and very attentive Finally the last but certainly not least William our room caretaker he was magical we wouldn’t see him until the last day but like magic the room would be spotless well prepared whether be for the night or the day , once again his beaming smile warmed my heart . Mara Intrepid is not an accommodation but rather a family who openly welcome you into their home making it yours . Thanks to all the staff they were all excellent thanks our new family
Recomendo!
Wow, that's all I can say! Safari in the Masai Mara is incredible, and the Mara Intrepids was definitely a part of that! The tented camp is wonderful, with amazing, spacious tents along the river. We saw elephants, hippos, impala and crocodile from the tents (behind an electric fence so safe). Calling it a tent, doesn't give the accommodation justice. It's very spacious, with a four poster in the middle of the room. The bathroom area is also a very good size, and well stocked with hairdryer and toiletries.
The Safari itself blew us away, we stayed for 3 nights and saw the big 5 (Lion, Leopard, Buffalo, Rhino, Elephant) by day 3. Not to mention the Cheetahs (and cubs), Giraffe, Zebra, Wildebeest and everything else the Masai Mara has to offer! Our safari game driver Dixon was incredible - what a guy! He was extremely knowledgeable with over 27 years of game driving experience. His experience definitely helped us find the very rare rhino, as well as his ability to second guess what and where the animals would be which meant we got some fantastic photographs. We can't thank Dixon enough for his efforts, you made our Safari experience. His love and passion for the animals really showed, and made the experience even better!
As well as the above, the food at Mara intrepids was top notch. No one will go hungry! The service was great, thanks to Josphat, but you could tell everyone was trained to an excellent standard.
O hotel é no meio do Mara. É maravilhoso. O staff é fantástico, super prestativo. Com exceção do rinoceronte, que nao existem mtos lá, vimos todos os animais diversas vezes. O motorista Paul foi mto atencioso e esforçado para que víssemos todo tipo de bicho. Espero voltar!
My wife and I stayed at Mara Intrepid for four nights. It was one of the best experiences we've ever had traveling. Starting from the beginning, the service was excellent. We were picked up on time from the Olkiombo airstrip (two minutes from camp) and greeted with fresh juice and smiles. Our room was beautiful and spotless (Thanks John!). Showers were hot and the warm water packets at night were a nice touch. We did our daily safaris with Michael who was fantastic (if you can request Michael, do so!). Michael was extremely attentive, informative, and kept our happiness front of mind. We saw 50+ lions, lots of cheetahs and leopards, elephants, giraffes, hippos, crocs, and baboons. It was great to go in November as it is low tourist season in the Mara. We also saw many newborns as it is birthing season. Rain was not an issue at all. In addition the food was top notch. My wife is vegetarian and she had no issues. The food menus were well stocked with meat and vegetarian apps and entrees. Kudos to the chef and his team! Our server, Nelson, made us feel incredibly welcome and at home every day we were there. Also on our 4th night, the staff planned a private dinner for the two of us which was a nice surprise to end our stay. Thanks to Daniel for always being welcoming and having a Tusker ready for me. Overall the staff at Mara Intrepid made us feel extremely welcome and at home during our stay. The kindness and hospitality surpassed our wildest expectations. Thanks to everyone!!
This was my first stay at the intrepids camp and it was an amazing experience. From our fantastic game drives to the hotel service, every experience was beyond my expectations. Great staff and we highly recommend Raph as the game driver. He was well experienced and found us a leopard every day we went out, not to mention all the other amazing animals as well.
My boyfriend and I recently stayed at Mara Intrepids for a long weekend. Overall, we had a great time. The park is beautiful and we saw almost everything you could hope for on the safari drives. The tents were nicely furnished and our particular one was secluded and right on the river. The staff was very friendly for the most part. The food was disappointing, but our server was dedicated to making sure we were happy so went out of his way to modify the menu. The website advertises that the hotel provides boiled water for drinking, however, they don't. Be prepared to pay for water bottles. Also be prepared to pay an additional $70 USD per person per night for park fees. We missed that in the fine print, so were a bit surprised at the end. Alcohol isn't included either, which for many safari companies it is. In our opinion, the price is a little steep for what the company offers and quality of the food, but it was still a wonderful time.
