Hard to find but good

Excellent host that really speaks English, decent budget stay for airport, fewer barking dogs at night than most of the island. Good restaurant nearby.

The owner was incredibly friendly and helpful. When we first arrived, we had not had a chance to exchange money to Mauritian Rupees, and he took 1000Rs out of his wallet and loaned it to us in case we needed some before we got to an ATM. Breakfast was simple, but good. Place was just as pictured.

I had a one day layover in Mauritius and spent the night here. The price was reasonable and it is not far from the airport. My room was clean and comfortable and the owners are very nice people.

Superbe !

Nous avons passé une semaine à l'auberge Le Saladier en couple avec nos 2 filles. Accueil exceptionnel de la part de Yoonos et Jill qui sont aux petits soins et toujours de bons conseils. Petit déjeuner servi chaque matin avec la bonne humeur de Yoonos. Sécurité de l'auberge est un ++. Chambre fonctionnelle pas de luxe ni d'ornements mais vous y trouverez la clim (en petit supplément) et la télé . Patio fleuri agréable. L'auberge est dans le centre ville de Mahébourg, gare routiere a 5 min a pied, restos snacks, toutes commodités a proximité. Merci pour tout à Yoonos et Jill, nous avons eu un vrai coup de cœur pour cette auberge et leurs hôtes. Nous espérons y retourner si nous avons l'occasion de séjourner à Maurice.

Wonderfull service

Located in the middle of Mahebourg, in walking distanse of all the restaurants and shopping. Very welcomming and nice owner and impeccable service! The rooms are very rustic and simple, but clean and quiet. Would definitely recommend staying here when in Mahebourg!

How to see Mauritius on a budget

Gill & Younoos, Were perfect hosts. Nothing was too much trouble for them. They made me feel almost like part of the family. Highly recommended at €24 B&B. I stayed a week and hired a car through the hotel at €30 per day to see the whole island.

Nice Host

I had a wonderful host very informative on the country's history. This allowed for a nice visit. The room basic with good AC. The breakfast is good coffee and fresh baked bread. Be warned he doesn't like credit cards so a stop at the ATM is required. I have to say the local area was not the best. Few restaurants open past six. I found a small local bar open until eight or so. I was told the local are not night people, but home bodies. It seem strange with the evenings nice are after a hot day.

Un peu vétuste mais chaleureux

Ici rien à voir avec les grands complexes. Accès aisé à pieds: front de mer, bus, taxis,épiceries, pharmacie, marché,restaurants.... Gérants charmants pas avares de conseils et anecdotes! Un bémol: un peu bruyant en fin de nuit fenêtres ouvertes pour dormir au frais! Il est possible de mettre la clim moyennant quelques euros...Les lève tôt ne seront cependant pas trop dérangés!

Friendly guest house in downtown Mahebourg

Auberge de Saladier is a friendly, safe and comfortable guest house in downtown Mahebourg. The hosts Younoos and Jill were extremely friendly and helpful and a good source of information about Mauritius and the local area. It's a very relaxing environment to base yourself while spending a few days exploring Mahebourg

Great Mauritius hospitality

The owner is very attentive and friendly . You would feel like home. Although is not a high class acoomodation but you could able to get 5 stars hospitality and services from the owner. They are very helpful to give important information and sharing experiences with the guests . Highly recommended
