"This clean, quiet cabin looks out onto mountains and fields. Perfect spot for viewing the night sky. Each morning we heard cows moooing and irrigation whooshing, but one night we clearly heard elk bugling again and again. The cabin has a nice kitchen, a huge bathroom, and a comfy bed. We enjoyed the large main room because it meant our dog could easily keep tabs on us. Our golden retriever was happy to meet the host's three friendly dogs. They greeted us each day and then drifted away. This cabin is the perfect base for touring the John Day fossil beds. The three units are quite a distance from one another, but Kimberly is a great place to start from each day. The Sheep Rock unit - with the Condon museum, Cant Ranch, and multiple short hikes with interpretive displays - is just 30 minutes away. We were able to spend time in all three John Day units plus tour the Kam-Wah-Chung museum in John Day and dig for fossils in the town of Fossil."

"The room was quite spacious and well maintained. I liked the bathroom decor and the outside area which included chairs and picnic tables near a garden that attracted birds. The amenities were good and included a table and chairs which were very useful. We enjoyed our two night stay here."
