Great Juniper Springs Condo

Quiet, spacious, top floor corner unit overlooking chair 15. Well provisioned, comfortable family condo. The bunk/trundle bed was perfect for our three teenagers. Large covered deck with great views. This condo shows pride of ownership and care. We had a very nice stay.

Great location

Overall it was very good. There were an issues with broken or damaged things in the condo that it was inconvenient to take the time to document. It’s also a little inconvenient to check in and out at their office rather than directly at the property. But the staff was kind and helpful.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Juniper Springs is located right next to Eagle Lodge making it a fantastic location for skiers desiring a ski in/out experience. Unfortunately, for us the mountain closed due to avalanche concerns.Just know if you stay here, the resort management will treat you like a second class citizen for not renting it directly through them. We arrived late on Christmas day just wanting a cup of coffee . . . for whatever reason, this condos management company only supplied us with one coffee package - what was worse was finding that the local super market was closed for Christmas. The main bedroom heater wasn't working, so it was freezing at night - I had to wear my long-johns just to stay warm LOL!

Mammoth stay above eagle lodge lift

We love staying at juniper springs due to the proximity to the chairlift. It was a very nice stay! I agree with prior reviews that it would be nice to have a door code to enter and exit. We were 5 skiers with teens and only two keys made it necessary to coordinate getting into the condo during the day.

This apartment was perfect for all of that. It’s beautifully decorated, spacious and cozy and the balcony was a great place to sit and relax before and after the day began. Would recommend this place to friends/family and would stay here again.

The unit was so clean and immaculate, and the kitchen had everything we needed.My kids loved the twin over queen bunk bed, and the master bed was very very comfortable. There were so many extra pillows and comforters which I really appreciated! My teenage son slept on the pullout couch and loved how comfortable the memory foam mattress was! The fact that this condo is on the top floor of the resort is a bonus because of the great views. We have stayed at Juniper Springs resort many times and love the location! The ski in and ski out has really spoiled us :) We would definitely stay at this condo again!

Reviewer Comments: Here's the letter I wrote to the owner of this unit (which never received a response):Dear Owner of unit 539,We have enjoyed your unit. It is spacious and comfortable and love the decor (my mom is from Grand Island)!BUT...The pool heater is broken and has been broken our entire stay - Saturday the 24th through Tuesday the 27th (today). This was a huge disappointment for our family. This is half of our annual vacation and we and our kids LOVE to swim. We look forward to it so much and have been talking about our Mammoth trip ever since I booked our stay. This is our 3rd stay in Mammoth as a family. We stayed twice before at the Monache and swam morning and evening all our days there. This year we went in the jacuzzi together...but it's just not the same. The rep I spoke with at Mammoth Sierra (Joanna) said it was out of her control, and I know that's true. However, to have an ice cold pool at a resort for 4-plus days seems unfair to patrons, especially when we paid about $300/night (plus fees).I hope to hear back from you. Thank you for your attention._______The owner never responded to this email, but even more frustrating was that the people at the hotel front desk and also the rep at the property management company didn't care in the least! This is the downside of renting through HomeAway, VRBO and the like. If we had been guests paying the hotel directly I would have asked the manager for some compensation (and likely have received it). The rep from the property management company told me that people were still going in the pool, and I agreed that a pair of 10-year old boys seemed undeterred. We go to Mammoth a lot but Juniper Springs will NOT get our repeat business. Take our advice and stay at the Monache. Same cost but the upkeep and service are far superior.

The only negative is if you want to ski the day you leave, you have to get up early, clean out, and drive the key back to the management office downtown, then hope you can find parking somewhere in one of the public ski parking lots. It would have been nice if we could have kept the car in the parking garage of the place we stayed at and had the management company have a person pick up the key from us, or some other way we wouldn't have to move the car in the morning.

Juniper Springs Lodge #539 Experience!

The location of the lodge is perfect for all the activities in the local Mammoth Village area, as well as the mountain. We like that it is set a bit apart from the more crowded areas of the town. The dishwasher in this unit has a door that could use some repair. It has been this way for as long as we can remember. The bottom rack comes off the track very easily when it is opened. Also, there were a number of lounge chairs by the pool that were damaged and torn, reducing the number of useable chairs. Overall, it is a wonderful place to stay! Thanks!

The condo was very nice. Loved the fireplace, the view and the balcony. Recommendations; add texture to the shower floor and provide spa/pool robes. Special notes: since the manager is off site, and difficult to contact it would have helped to have a key card open the door, or if a hard key is really necessary, have a lock box at the door.

Great location next to slopes

This is the second time we’ve stayed at Juniper Springs. It’s a terrific location right next to the slopes. The unit itself is well equipped and spacious. Exactly as advertised. Three things to be aware of, first the unit is not actually rented through the Juniper Springs Hotel itself. Therefore, there was no housekeeping (not a big deal because we were only there for a weekend). Second - this means you need to pick up and drop off keys at a rental agency 1 mile away (not a big deal at all). Third, the equipment rental shop in the hotel was not functioning. The staff (from mammoth rentals, not from the hotel) just didn’t show up. I heard there were staffing shortages. It just meant we had to walk to eagle lodge to rent our equipment. Not a big deal, but just be aware that the staffing of the rental shop is flaky. Overall, great location and great unit.

Condo like a hotel

A condo in a large building like a hotel. The parking in the garage is tight in a large vehicle. The kitchen was nicely equipped and everything is as pictured in the unit and nicely furnished. The washer dryer is down the hall and is COIN operated. There are vending machines for coins but were all empty and the hotel staff were unable to help. This was inconvenient and not accurately listed in the unit's description. We went in the summer but there is a ski lift immediately adjacent to the property. Also note there is no air conditioning (there are ceiling fans) which was hard when it was smokey outside.

The best location in Juniper Springs

This rental is bar none the best unit I have stayed at in Juniper Springs. I have been coming to this location/hotel for the past 10 years with family and friends. We choose this hotel area due to the fact that it is ski in and ski out which is the biggest benefit of this area. The hotel itself could use a refresh as it is getting old and nothing has really changed since the many years I have been coming there. Tried this listing out and I can not even begin to explain how nice the room was in comparison to the rest of the hotel. This is my first choice for whenever it is available and when I am back in town once again. Incredible listing!
