This place is properly named. We have stayed here a few years ago and often reminisce about the scenery and peacefullness. We like to walk and with the newest boardwalk extensions all that came to fruition. Location and scenic value is a DREAM!

Adorable inn right on the water. Staff was super friendly! It’s an older building so there’s some reasonable “character” here and there but overall you can see it’s a well cared for. Its location is wonderful and we would definitely stay again!

Recently and beautifully renovated, The Tranquil House Inn was charming and delightful! Very comfortable and ideally located, within walking distance to so many eateries and parks and historic sites. And they have a partnership with the Village Beach Club just across the bridge in Nags Head that provides free parking and access to the beach, a pool, and the amenities associated with the club. We took advantage of that and enjoyed an easy day at the beach. The 1857 restaurant at the Inn was very good with excellent food and views of the waterfront. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

The property was good; the staff helpful and friendly. The stairs were rather inconvenient for carrying a suitcase. The only way to get to my room was several flights of stairs. The keypad on the door was a little clunky, but the room key worked fine. Glad we stayed here for our girls trip, but not sure I'd choose to stay here again. For the price, I expected a bit more, but it was still very nice. Parking spaces hard to come by, but we managed a spot every time.
