“Oh gosh, the front desk people were fabulous! Kind, caring, funny, and wonderful, as was the lady who took care of breakfast. What I didn't care for (and I understand the hotel is undergoing renovations!) was that the pool was closed (no notice), the toilet in our bathroom was so low to the ground that it was hard to get up, the grout was missing on the floor in the bathroom, and the channels listed on the TV guide were not available. Other than that it was a good stay. Once the renovations……

“Sugar Beach has a great location, friendly staff, clean environment, fantastic pool & hot tub, and comfortable rooms. The only thing we would have enjoyed more was a breakfast / dining area with many breakfast choices as opposed to boxed options that we ate in our room.”

“The hard boiled eggs and coffee were good didn't try any other breakfast items. Room only had a very small round stool, no chair. Doors are very loud when they close. Over all it was just ok.”

“Two of the three days we stayed the hot tub was broken. The dropped ceiling framing in the bathroom was pretty rusty from condensation. Overall it was a good stay. No eggs or meat on the breakfast.”

“There was no breakfast. None. My room was dirty. My room had a connecting door to another room that did not lock. They checked people into that room after 10pm. I was bitten by bedbugs all over my legs. ”

“We loved our stay.. Room size was great & we appreciated having a shower without the tub. Parking was very convenient. Our only issue was lack of housekeeping.. Once from May 10-15.. It wasn’t absolutely necessary as there were plenty of towels, but it would have been nice to get creamers for the coffee without grabbing them from the lobby. Would definitely stay again.”

“Staying in the city of Lake City, with a view of the lake, and walking distance around the lake and city from the motel, gives a feeling of upnorth Michigan costal, convenience, clean, and quaint.”
