“First of all, let me say that I would give this place 10 stars if that were possible. We have stayed many places that have been wonderful and unique, but if we only ever stayed one place this would be it.As you might imagine in a place with little hobbit hole like rooms much of the decor somehow relates to Lord of the Rings. “We had a great stay at the Bourbon Oak Smokehouse. Robert and family were quick to communicate, both with guidance about the house and about things to do and places to go in Bardstown. The house was neat and clean, and while there are imperfections, they simply add to the charm of a historic home. The house is within a short drive (though it can definitely be walked) to downtown Bardstown with all its shops, bars, and restaurants. It sits just far enough from the main street to be private and……
