Amazing place

From the views to the accomodations, this place is amazing. We really enjoyed having the pool table, movie theater, and hot tub to make the best of our visit to the Asheville area. We look forward to visiting again.

Amazing Vacation Rental

This is an amazing vacation rental. We were fortunately able to book this house fairly last minute for a family ski trip to Hatley Pointe. It was just our family staying but the house is very large with tons of space for multiple families if needed. The kids loved all of the amenities - pool table, arcade games, hot tub, bunk bed room and especially the movie theater was a big hit! Mountain views from the back decks are amazing. Could not have asked for a better VRBO home, can't wait to come back!

Perfect mountain getaway!

The entire process was smooth and there were no surprises -- from booking to check-out! The house was exactly as described and was the perfect amount of space for our group of 12. They obviously considered families when setting up the house, which is always a relief for short term rentals. We had no criticisms, and would stay again in a heartbeat.

Great Mountain stay

What a fun property! It was well stocked and VERY clean. We were all impressed. We stayed with another family and having three floors made it feel like we weren’t all smashed together. There were some small issues but I plan to message the host as the issues were not a deterrent at all. We would happily stay here again.

We totally enjoyed our family vacation in NC! The house’s amenities were perfect for our group. From the movie room to the pool table to the amazing view- it was a perfect week for us. We loved the Wolf Laurel area.

Great weekend getaway!

The property was definitely as described and very clean. The views are better than shown in the pictures. If you are looking for a quiet area to get away with friends or family, this is a great spot. It is 40 min, approximately, from Asheville proper, but that was not a big deal to our group. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a place this large.

Stunning view, stunning property! We absolutely loved our stay here. Everyone had a little something. It was especially accommodating for having children of all ages. We so appreciated the baby gates at the top and bottom of stairs! Very responsive and helpful hosts. Highly recommend!

I cannot recommend enough! Great place that suited our needs perfect! Very clean and everythingw was as advertised. Equipped with games galore, plenty of comfortable sleeping, and the in-house theater was awesome. The pictures are great but don't do it justice. If you're looking, stop. This is the one.

Perfect family friendly home with beautiful long range views

We celebrated my husbands birthday by staying at this home for the weekend and it was perfect! There were so many activities and toys to keep my kids entertained while the adults were able to relax And enjoy the beautiful views. There was everything you need for toddlers/ infants and gates already installed at the stairs. The hosts were very kind and responsive. The gated community was lovely And we enjoyed going for a walk on the trails that were a short drive from the house. We will absolutely book this home again!

Good times at the Overlook Lodge

My family and I really enjoyed our time at the OL. We were able to spread out in such a spacious house then come together on the deck with a gorgeous view of the mountains (once the wildfire smoke cleared). The movie room, arcade table and pool table were big hits with all ages. Our 3yo loved the available toys and my teenage sons spent most of their time in the hot tub. Access to the pool, tennis, pickle ball and fishing at the base of the resort were also included. I highly recommend the OL and would stay there again.

Beautiful mountain home

Very impressive home with beautiful Mountain Views. Very well equipped. Top notch. Loved it. Check in was a bit nerve racking. We got in late and found the back security gate that Apple Maps had guided us to was not open. Had to drive around to the main gate that was about 20 minutes away. Other than that, very nice.

Great place, some issues with wifi

Beautiful home with perfect areas for multi-family stay. We stayed as a family of 5, and had a great time. Beautiful view, comfortable beds and pillows. Generous kitchen, all cooking amenities present. Ample towels and toiletries. One day we did not have wifi access for the entire morning and afternoon, and we did not receive any response from the management company we called. Luckily, DIY trouble-shooting with the router in the bunk bed room finally fixed the issue. Definitely need AWD vehicle for the steep driveway, but there is a parking pad space at the top of the driveway for one vehicle (if you don’t mind carrying luggage down the driveway). Thanks for the stay!

Cabin Needs Some TLC

We rented this cabin for my bachelor party. We overall thought the property itself was nice, but it was obvious it hadn’t been taken care of. What we liked about the cabin was the view on the back porch, its relatively remoteness, and some of the amenities. There were some things that caused us to give the property only 3 stars. We booked the cabin based on one of its main amenities, the theater room. We were planning to watch the final four and other sports together the whole weekend in the theater room while we shoot pool and relax. We spent days looking for the theater remote only to find it hidden in a kitchen drawer completely snapped in half. Additionally searching for the theater remote all over the cabin caused us to really take notice of the cleanliness of the place. We were looking under couches and chairs and found all types of old food. We found corn cobs, chip wrappers, and crumbs. The theater room really needs some TLC. We think the cabin itself is very nice, it just doesn’t seem like it has been taken care of. We may have been unlucky and had bad guest before us. We were not super happy of the condition on the place plus the inability to use the main amenity we booked the cabin for in the first place. For the price we paid, we left a bit let down

Fabulous Family Vacation

What a wonderful house for our family gathering of three generations to spend time together. This is by far the best place we have ever rented. The views were beyond spectacular and we spent a lot of time outside on the wonderful decks. The location and house far exceeded our expectations. The owners went above and beyond to provide everything we needed for an outstanding week. We especially appreciated all the baby stuff provided and the well stocked kitchen. With three families gathering as one, having the lower floor “apartment” with a separate kitchen and washer and dryer certainly gave everyone the space that we needed. The pool table and movie theater were huge hits. We loved exploring the area, taking walks (the rhododendrons were in bloom and gorgeous) and hiking part of the AppalachianTrail (direct access in the community) up Big Bald Mountain. Everyone had a great time and we are all hoping to return next year. The only drawback was the driveway. You do need 4WD to get up and down the steep gravel driveway which gives you direct access to the house. Two parking spaces are located at the top of the drive for 2WD cars or you can park at the clubhouse. However, you still need to be able to traverse the steep drive on foot with luggage, coolers, etc. as there are not any stairs to the house. If you are traveling with someone in a 2WD who is unable to navigate steep slopes on foot, I would not recommend it. To all others, enjoy the beauty of mountains!

Don't Let This One Slip Away!!

We had a wonderful time at the Overlook Lodge. Elliott was very quick to respond when we had questions. The cabin is huge and has plenty of room for everyone. The hosts did a wonderful job decorating (pics don't do it justice) and was thoughtfully organized (and labeled) and included everything we needed! They went above and beyond with all the little things provided, which was much appreciated. The cabin was also very clean. There are 3 large decks and amazing views can't be beat, it was truly breathtaking! The layout of the cabin (3 levels) was perfect for our group. My boyfriend and I were traveling with our kids, Brady Bunch Style (19,17,16,14) and this cabin had everything to keep them happy. I mention this because It's tricky when you have boys and girls. It was nice that my daughter could have a bit of privacy and basically had the lower bedroom/level to herself. The Game room was a HUGE hit for us all, but especially the kids!! We very much enjoyed the game nights we had after our daily adventures! The movie theater, poker table, and pool table were our favorite. My BF and I also enjoyed the old school arcade games. ;) Who would have thought teenagers would be begging their parents to challenge them in a game of Uno or Black Jack?! Haha, so thank you to the hosts to make this happen! We would definitely recommend this place for the views, the layout that accommodates small or large groups and of course the game/media rooms!

Somewhat disappointed

The house is gorgeous and the location is great if you want a house off the beaten path. The driveway is steep and requires 4WD, which is no big deal. The views are gorgeous. My main issue with our stay was that several things were broken/missing (toilet was broken, smoke detectors missing or without batteries, one of the speakers for movie room was broken), damaged (projector bulb was burnt out causing half the screen to be brown, some of the doors to laundry and movie rooms were off track had damaged tracks) or dirty (hot tub had a distinct layer of film). The gas was also off for the heating and fireplaces downstairs. When we contacted management to inform them of concerns/request repairs through the email that they used to reach out to us, the response was prompt, but often "let me check on that :)". I would never hear back without sending another email and all three of the handyman visits were unannounced, despite asking that we get some notice as we wanted to make plans in Asheville. Each time a handyman arrived, they didn't know about most of the things that were reported despite the multiple communications. Eventually, I stopped reporting things because I felt I wasn't being heard. This house could be five stars with proper repairs of the main draws (movie room projector and speakers, hot tub). I wouldn't deter someone from staying here but I would check in to make sure nothing is in a state of disrepair prior to booking.

This house is absolutely gorgeous and the views are unbeatable! There were PLENTY of activities. We really enjoyed playing pool and watching movies in the movie room in the evenings. The porches are spacious and the outdoor hot tub has an amazing view and was well heated. We enjoyed the on site hiking trail. We LOVED it and will be back for sure.

Fantastic!

This house has it all. No need to even leave the Community! Our family of older teens and adults enjoyed the hot tub, movie room and pool table. In the neighborhood we played pickleball, golf and hiked both the nature trail and portions of the Appalachian Trail. The hike to Big Bald is short and not to be missed. We went for sunset and the views are breathtaking! We’d stay here again in a heartbeat. Highly recommend.
