"The location of this hotel is great, very close to the nightly street food stalls.
However the surrounding area is not that clean as most of the side walk are ruin. Just a 10 min walk to a very large twin adjoining mall with some clean food outlets.
There are also numerous 7-11 and café shops but most closed at 5:00 pm or earlier.
There's a Street Food Corner or Courtyard located along the way to the Imperial Mall but it's not at a corner but just the name. Looks like a warehouse type of construction with numerous stalls parked on both sides inside the couryard.
Prices are reasonable, mostly Malay, Thai and local dishes.
Great selections of drinks. Average price for drinks RM 6.00 and for food RM 10.00 and up.
Breakfast in the Mercure Hotel is Excellent. Smoke Salmon can be found in their selection. Nice automated Coffee machine.
While i was there, the swimming pool was closed till Oct or Dec. 2026 👎
I stayed from Sept 15 to 18, 2026.
Nothing much to explore in the city. Hardly anything at the Promonade. The water smells at the jetty.
A two night stay is good enough. There's a big hotel at the Imperial Mall called Imperial Hotel."
