“We loved our stay at Kandy Shady Trees thanks to the very welcoming and accommodating nature of our hosts. The room we stayed in was large and very comfortable and breakfast was fresh and substantial. The location is up a steep hill (we took a tuk tuk up and down it) but could be walked. Views from the property were great and it was in close proximity to central Kandy and many worth visiting sites. Our host also accommodated us by driving us to local sites for a very reasonable fee. “Aara Wild near Sigiriya was the highlight of our whole Sri Lanka trip. From arrival, the warmth of the welcome set the tone – every member of staff, from housekeeping to guides to the kitchen team, was genuinely, unfailingly lovely. “The Glass House is possibly the best accommodation and service we have experienced in over 40 years of exploring this wonderful country. The house design and location are breathtaking. The views are spectacular (make sure you are up for dawn). On site Chef Kevin made traditional Sri Lankan meals of exceptional quality. Kapilo was there ready for any of our needs without being intrusive. Milan and Chandra keep the house and gardens running and in beautiful order. Can I say more ? If you don’t……

“Let me start with the good points since there are very few : the look of the room - beautiful Now the rest, I’m an experience traveller and experienced in hospitality and I am ensuring that this hotel can charge such a high price or the poor service provided : - we cannot driving ourselves and it’s been impossible to find the hotel : the pin location is not accurate (the hotel is located almost an hour from kandy im the countryside) and there are no sign anywhere to indicate the right……

“The villa was pretty nice, bathrom notvthe best, view was sensatiomal! There was a lot of oroblems! Firsly itcwas very difficult to access the property, we arrived late, we expected to have dinner at a restaurant, instead most of us had cold melas thst were ordered in hours b4! Some were returned to be reheated! It was the worse dinner i have ever had! The compkaint was mot gandled, i emailed the iwner an drexeived mp response! We also post some of our packibg bags we used to fet laundry done!……

“Clean and extremely comfortable stay. The housekeepers were very accommodating. Whipped up a scrumptious dinner at short notice. Stunning pool. Would stay here again but must remember to bring essentials like coffee, tea and shampoo. ”
