「Arrival & Atmosphere We arrived around 3 PM and check-in was smooth - there was one staff member at the front desk who was expecting us. However, the resort felt unusually quiet, almost empty. During our stay, most facilities appeared closed, including dining and the spa. It’s unclear whether these are only available in peak season. 「Absolutely wonderful! They thought of everything to make it first class...from the fruit and chocolates or ice cream to welcome you to the delicious home made bread. Decorating /amenities show a very attentive hostess.」

「This is a very perfect mansion which is both classic and modern. I’m surprised that even the towels are put on a heating rack. We love the food a lot, both dinner and breakfast. Fresh ingredients and nicely cooked by the host! Host is very nice and introduced us to sheep feeding. Thanks for lending us a HDMI cable as well since our laptop’s monitor is not functioning well and we need to connect it to the TV.」

「Wonderful staging for our family of 6 for a trip to Hobbiton. Hanging out with and feeding the alpacas made my kids' day. Hostess very responsive. Note that it is one large room with one bathroom with multiple beds but it worked just fine for our family 」

「Pros: Lovely property; we really enjoyed the stay.Cons:Water pressure in the shower was poor. Security concern: on the morning of check out we found an empty bottle beer on the steps are the rear. This was not there the day before. We were concerned if there had been a prowler during the night.」

「We can't rate the bus as it was unavailable on our arrival and in the barn for major maintenance. However we were offered a room in the adjacent lodge which was very nice - just not what we expected at the time of booking.」
