Very quiet, apart from the beach not a lot to do - but maybe that’s because it’s the winter time. Fantastic train system and so cheap - return trip to Barcelona for 2 people €16.80 - brilliant.

Quite far if you don’t drive to towns with a good atmosphere. You need to get a train/cab to most places.
Quiet area. Lovely beaches. Great food
Bit out of the way if you want to visit Barcelona city. If you just want to sit round the pool and near to a beach then its fine

The lovely Atenea hotel made the trip. The beach front of Mataro is very quiet with few choice of facilities.
