From one of the two balconies it is possible to glimpse the Cathedral of the Madonna della Bruna and the panorama of the Sassi di Matera , a UNESCO heritage site since 1993. A short walk from one of the entrances to the Sassi makes it possible to get around the entire central part of Matera without needing a car; in addition, the proximity to the Matera Centrale train station, which is less than 50 meters from the apartment, also makes it possible to arrive by train of the Ferrovie Appulo Lucane.

The name Domus Il Grillaio derives from the Falco Grillaio, a splendid bird that periodically populates the skies of Matera by nesting on the rooftops, and from one of the two balconies of this apartment it is possible to admire the flight of this bird as it soars freely through the skies of the City.
