We rented out 3 rooms , all the room are different and very unique - clean - WiFi working well . There is some stairs from the hotel lobby to the room but the staff are amazing they will take care all your luggages with no problem. We ate at the hotel restaurant upstairs for one night . The view is beautiful but the food isn’t that good, service is a big disappointment , I almost rate them lower because of the restaurant service but I feel bad for all the people who’ve working at the front desk they worked super hard to please the customers. Overall, I love the hotel - the town . 2 days is enough for you to explore this town .

OMG. This property was amazing. We stayed in one of the Cave hotel rooms and it was like nothing else I have ever seen. The hotel was top-notch, the staff and service was top-notch, the view was beyond top-notch. I cannot recommend this hotel or staying in the Sassi area enough. I feel so lucky to have experienced this area of the world and cannot say enough good things about the property. The staff were so helpful from day one (we stayed 3 nights). 5-star service all the way. On our last day, we really did not have an itinerary for the last 3-4 days of our time in Italy until we flew out of Rome. The front desk employee suggested 2 places, including Orvieto. We took her advice and had the best time finishing off our 3-week tour of Croatia and Italy.

Hotel lindo mas pouco prático (como toda a cidade)

Ficamos apenas um dia/noite. Hotel é lindíssimo, o atendimento é excepcional. Só duas coisas importantes, não tem ar condicionado nos quartos (então se pegar dia quente passa calor - foi o meu caso) e a cidade só tem escada, pra ir pro quarto são muitas escadas, então vá com pouca bagagem.

Staying in the Sassi

This is a property in the Sasso Caveoso in Matera, the most incredible and one of the most ancient places on earth. The views of the Sassi and the caves are incredible and the room carved in the rock was spacious and comfortable. I would have added a TV close to the bed and a second sink in the bathroom but altogether the place is great. Very good service ans evryone is superfriendly and helpful. Also great the breakfastr buffet

Staying at Sant’Angelo was like stepping into a dream. The hotel is carved into the ancient stone of the Sassi, and every corner feels like a piece of living history. Since the area of the hotel is on no parking zone I contacted the hotel on Expedia regarding nearby parkings but they never replied. The hotel’s email address was down so I got no help with parking. The room was very dusty and full of mosquitoes. The bathroom has a glass door which was uncomfortable. The restaurant’s menu was very limited with mostly burger and club sandwiches. Unfortunately the pizza wasn’t good either. The buffet breakfast was good and the restaurant staff was very friendly and kind. The property has many stairs so keep that in mind if you have any kind of knee injuries.

入境隨俗的洞穴屋

少有人第一次到義大利就到過Matera，就是這個念頭，我們風塵僕僕地來到這裏，只因這裏有Sassi文化遺產，還有附近的 Trulli。老實說，Sant' Angelo不好找到，reception的地點有改變過，我們費了好久時間，ㄧ直到現在，我們還是擔心會不會誤闖了ZTL？見到洞穴屋的第一個感覺只有「哇」，很興奮，也很驚奇，甚至馬上跟台灣的好友ㄧ家人FaceTime分享。裡面很乾淨，浴室的水柱也很強，真的要挑剔的是床和棉被都有小小粒的砂子，但這是難免的，洞穴屋不就是這樣嗎。飯店內沒有免費停車，這跟訂房時Hotels.com上寫的不同，代客泊車的費用記得是26歐。請記得提早一小時前order取車，因為動作真的很慢。洞穴屋的本身真的很棒，值得親自體驗。

L hôtel est très bien situé, dans le cœur historique de la ville Le personnel n est pas à la hauteur pour un hôtel 5 étoiles…. Très cher pour les prestations offertes Notre suite a eu des odeurs d égouts pendant la totalité de notre séjour . Ces odeurs circulaient dans l ensemble de l hôtel , petit déjeuner….Aucun geste commercial n a été appliqué… c est scandaleux

Our room was a cave which was unique. Unfortunately, where the seating area was located in the back of the cave was very dark without proper lighting so a little depressing. The only way down is to leave your car at a garage and take the shuttle down that has to be booked. They don’t explain the charges for that ahead of time so the price of the garage and shuttle can add up!
