Fun location Right at the square.

We enjoyed our stay immensely. Right in the center of things. Food, night life, attractions. Like any place in a small town until you get used to the parking situation and its rules you question why have a car. It quickly gets better. This unit is spacious, well appointed, clean and comfortable. I would stay again. Angelo was a dream to deal with. Make sure you know how to use “what’s App”. It will make your life so much easier.

Very central location for easy access to the Sassi.

The apartment is in a great central location - on a piazza with a couple of cafe's outside and above a bistro. Easy access to all the sights of the Sassi and Matera, and of course more cafe's and restaurants less than 10 mins walk. Very centrally located for dining out and getting home after a day of sightseeing. Alberto was a great host - his wife would leave us cakes and focaccia while Alberto made sure we were stocked up for the week with pastries for breakfast and housekeeper who kept us supplied with fresh towels. Apartment located on first floor with easy access via stairs which are not at all steep or difficult to navigate. The photo's on this listing give a good idea of the apartment and it's layout. Of note, the bathroom / shower room is very compact. Someone less agile may find the shower a little difficult to use though Alberto has informed us that he is looking into having this made bigger. If your plan is to cook when staying here then the kitchenette has a combined microwave with convection oven capability, and a single ring bench top stove which we did not use as we just ate out all the time as there are so many places to choose from. Matera is a beautiful town and this apartment offers you easy access to the sights and sounds that Matera has to offer.
