The Rhino Resort & Spa is a beautiful property with friendly staff. The rooms and pools are top of the line that include a separate bath, shower and toilet. It was quiet and peaceful. I will return for another visit.

What a big disappointment it was!!! I go to Saly twice a year. We usually stay at Royam Hotel. This time we decided to give Rhino a chance because their website description of the hotel is very appealing. For instance I wanted to take advantage of the hot tub they advertised but actually do not have. The worst part is that I got food poisoning after eating their breakfast, especially the scrambled eggs which were very wet. On Sunday I waited for over 15 minutes for a cup and a mug in order to pour some coffee and some orange juice. I eventually gave up on the orange juice. I was not the only one. Besides they are very expensive.

My bed had both live and dead bugs in it at check. I asked to have new bedding put on the bed and hotel staff refused. I was told that the bugs were coming from the thatched roof ceiling. Bathroom fixtures were old and some broken like the paper towel holder. Expensive and not with the money. Keys did not work after one days stay and a staff member very easily broke into the room with a screw driver making us feel very unsafe about the security of the room.

un 5 étoiles qui a perdu son standing

Bel endroit, belle chambre, mais manque cruellement d’entretien. Le poids des ans a fait son œuvre… Par exemple, la salle de sport est en très mauvais état, avec du matériel quasi hors d’usage. Le service de chambre est bon, sauf pour le mini-bar, qui n’a jamais été approvisionné du début jusqu’à la fin du séjour. À l’accueil, c’est le chaud et le froid : parfois, le personnel est agréable et souriant, et d’autres fois, on a l’impression de passer la porte d’une prison. C’est dommage, car il ne manque pas grand-chose pour que cet établissement 5 étoiles retrouve son standing.

Das Hotel hat unsere Buchung trotz Bestätigung nicht gefunden, wir hatten 3 Monate vorher gebucht für 5 Tage. Wir konnten nur zwei Tage bleiben und mussten ein neues Hotel suchen. Später ist unsere Buchung aufgetaucht, keine Entschuldigung, kein bedauern.

Mit 5 Sterne hat das, was hier geboten wird überhaupt nichts zu tun. Mit 3 Sternen wäre dieses Hotel noch zu gut bewertet. Flughafentransfer: Trotz bestätigter Abholung habe ich über 1,5 Stunden am Flughafen warten müssen und mehrfach mit dem Hotel telefoniert, bis endlich ein uralter Transporter erschien. Expedia wirbt mit kostenlosem Flughafentransfer. Tatsächlich kostet jede Fahrt 25.000 CFA (ca.40 Euro). Beschwerden bei Expedia bringen nichts, da wird man an das Hotel verwiesen, das aber hier kompromisslos ist. Zimmer: Einrichtung und Bodenbeläge hochwertig bei Einbau, aber es sieht nach Renovierungsstau aus. In der Dusche sind die Ecken schwarz von Schimmel. Das Bett ist hervorragend und auch mit Moskitonetz geschützt. Die Klimaanlage hat funktioniert, aber unterhalb des Geräts hat sich eine Pfütze auf dem Holzboden gebildet. Die Bretter des Bodens haben sich teilweise gelockert. Restaurant: Das obligatorische Sylvestermenü würde ich als nichts Besonderes bezeichnen, dafür mit ca. 100 € pro Person völlig überteuert, wie auch die Bargetränke. Wir haben ansonsten bis auf das gute Frühstück (leider mit Kapsel Kaffemaschine=Umweltverschmutzung) und gelegentlich einer Tiefkühlpizza auf die Verpflegung im Hotel verzichtet und sind lieber auswärts essen gegangen. SPA: Nur Massagen in Anspruch genommen, soweit ok. Pool: Mehrere Pools, die eigentlich nur zum Erfrischen gedacht sind. Der tiefste ging gerade mal bis zum Bauchnabel.

I find this to be more of a 3.5 star hotel at the most. Some TLC needed in the rooms. Found the shower floor not to be very clean, the same with the basins that need a good scrub to clear of the scale build up. Pillows need immediate replacement.

Good but not 5* quality all-round

A very nice 5* hotel with very friendly staff. Very nice large room, with both a shower and a bath and a great big TV. A deep pool for swimming laps would be good as the pools they have are shallow or not suitable for swimming laps. The gym is pretty basic, but ok. The buffet breakfast is good, though a bit of variety with the cooked food would be good as it's the same day after day. The restaurant is ok, good service but average food. The menu sounds great but the quality of the dishes and the ability of the chefs are lacking. Spaghetti bolognaise swimming in oil and overcooked tomato sauce making it black, or red. Lamb with sliced potatoes, the potatoes were almost raw and both the lamb and the potatoes had too much sauce over them. Apart from those issues, it's a good hotel to stay at.
