"This is a basic hotel with minimal accommodations. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The hotel was noisy with upstairs neighbors and side neighbors yelling and stomping around. I did not feel exceptionally safe here and was glad to find my car unbothered in the morning. Pretty sure some sketchy things were going on a couple doors down. I found ants crawling over my things in the AM and went to report this to the hotel staff (so they could spray for the next person) and and I got mostly a blank stare and no real response. If in the area again, I would be finding somewhere else to stay. "

"Their kitchen oven went down. They only had cinnamon rolls and yogurt. They didn't go buy donuts, they didn't go buy electric griddles, they didn't griddle, breakfast burritos... they did nothing. We didn't budget for the money or time going to a funeral handling all this stuff and for the hotel to be so lazy."

"This is a beautiful and cozy place to stay, especially once you get the wood stove going—it really makes the space feel warm and inviting.A few small suggestions that could make the experience even better: it would be helpful to have a bit more fire starter provided based on the length of stay (we only had one for four nights). It would also be a nice touch to include some basic cooking staples like salt, pepper, and maybe powdered creamer and sugar for coffee.One thing to be aware of is that sound does travel quite easily in the dome, so we could hear some noise from neighboring guests at times, including conversations and dogs during the night.Overall though, the property itself is beautiful and has a really peaceful, cozy feel. It’s a great place to unplug and relax while still being close enough to everything we wanted to explore, making the drives very manageable."

"This place seems very new and is an attactive option if you want to stay in a more rural location in second-growth redwoods. We lived very close to this property many years ago and so this is exactly what we were looking for. We had no complaints and would not hesitate to book this place again. We noted two small areas for imporvement. There is no washer/dryer and the nearest facilities are in McKinleyville, so you cant pack light and expect to do laundry. Also, being new, the kitchen has the very basics, but is lacking spices, cooking oils, food storage (e.g. tupperware), foil, platics wrap ot anything similar. I suspect this will change with time. Overall, very quiet, peaceful with nice views, a fire pit and a small creek. One small hint is that Lindsey Creek at the bottom of the road has coho salmon that spawn in it, if you are staying during some of the first significant rains of the year in Nov or Dec, this is a very memorable experience if you get lucky. "
