This place was fantastic.. They really did me a solid by giving me a room on higher floor overlooking the market. For a solo traveler or even 2 people that place is great and in a good central location. The person met me at the place when I arrived, showed me around and then left me alone. Perfect. As mentioned in previous reviews, the kitchen area is small and not the most modern but everything worked great and was perfect for my needs. Would definintely stay here again.

Those beds are horrible, sorry mate. That’s how we all feel about them.. rooms are generally fine and have everything you need , price is unbeatableand location is excellent. It’s a shame about the balconies and most of all I’m not sure how I feel about having glass walls for the shower considering its location because you can see everything from the lounge room if someone is in there. That was awkward for me last weekend because my daughter and her friends came up to get me to go out and I was in the shower when they all walked in and they could see everything.
Great restaurants, just a short stroll away
I love the great little cafes hidden down some beautiful laneways just down the road
And for the money I saved because of the unbeatable prices, I was able to take my cousin and sister to the MCG to watch the bombers and still had some leftover
We also came and stayed in January and to find an apartment in the city on Australia Day long weekend for around $200 a night meant we could go to the Australian Open tennis bucket list item

The location was fantastic — within walking distance to Queen Victoria Market, the CBD, and the main shopping area. There were plenty of dining options nearby, and having a supermarket just across the road was very convenient. I also really appreciated having a kitchen and washing machine in the room, which made the stay much more comfortable and practical. However, there were some housekeeping issues that could be improved. There was an unpleasant smell from the carpet and dishwasher. The kettle and kitchen floor felt oily, the blinds had dead insects on them, the balcony had leftover food, and there was food residue on the microwave plate.

The room was sufficient, the bed was comfortable. I was within walking distance to cafes, public transport, theatres, etc. I did think the listing included a washing machine, but this was out of order. There were paid laundry facilities on-site though. The dishwasher in the room (bonus), was also not working.

Room and location very good.BUT booking in a nightmare…there is no one on reception so if you are arriving late, or if there is an issue with your room you must phone and wait.If you lock yourself out no one on site to help…worth paying a little more and getting the luxery of someone at the premises. It was a small room, some hard to clean mould in the shower but otherwise very clean and comfortable. Great spot, right next to the markets and a woolies. Very walkable. Hadva great stay.
