Just finished a wonderful stay with friends. Lizette and Gino are gracious hosts. Communication was prompt and they were very helpful. Woke up to beautiful ocean views. Never needed ac as the ocean breeze kept the house temperature perfect for sleeping. Ended up falling in love with Chelem.

Wonderful Month in Chelem

We wanted to stay for a month in Chelem and were so pleased with our experience at La Tintinki. Lizette and Gino were always available and responded immediately to any concerns or requests we had. The house is perfect for those who want to enjoy the beauties of the Gulf of Mexico and the low-key vibes of a small, coastal town.

Great beach on the Gulf of Mexico

Great location right on the beach!

We had a wonderful stay at La Tintinki! Lizette & Gino are warm and gracious hosts. Attentive and quickly responsive. We enjoyed having morning coffee on the ocean front patio. The pool is great and deep enough for water aerobics! Air conditioning in the master bedroom was appreciated. A great find!

Great Property!

Lizette was a wonderful host. Very responsive and accommodating. She provided us with many activities, sights and dining options. The place was clean and beds comfortable. We enjoyed our morning coffee looking out over the water. Friendly people in the area. Great place to relax and unwind.

Casa Tintinki

The photos are accurate but we were disappointed in the indoor and outdoor furniture. Both very uncomfortable. If you stay at this property you need a car as there is very little close by. The market on Monday is a Must, all expats with great offerings and conversation. Friendly town but most of the restaurants are awful so we dined in a lot which is not what we planned on. The beds are comfortable and the kitchen is well stocked. Lizette and her family go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable.

Great place right on water

Was a great house right on ocean. Beautiful pool right on beach and nice sitting area for morning coffee. House only had ac in master bedroom. You open the doors and lock screens and house was cool. Wind blows right through and keep house cool. Can't wait to go back next year. Really enjoyed the hammock inside and out. Great rental place spent almost no time inside

Lizette and Gino are awesome hosts!

We stayed 10 weeks at La Tintinki hosted by owners Lizette and Gino. Not enough can be said about their attentiveness to our needs. No request was too big or small - all were met with the desire to fulfill and make our stay the best that it could be. And let me tell you about our pool ON the beach! A swim in the ocean or the pool….take your pick…either is such a nice way to cool down (even if this is winter time in the Yucatan…35C is still 35C, especially compared to what we came home to!). The house is designed to remain cool inside while you can still absorb as much sunshine as you want just 5 feet outside the patio doors. We did not turn on the AC even once during our stay. The fans kept us always comfortable in La Tinktinki! This 5 star rating is for Lizette and Gino who are second to none!

Sweet House with a few problem

The beach in this area is eroding which brings the ocean closer to the houses. This might be why the well for this house has been compromised and is now salt. All the taps in the house and the pool are salt water. Difficult to rinse salt off your body and bathing suits etc. Apparently this has just happened so hopefully it gets fixed soon. Perhaps an inquiry prior to booking would be appropriate. We “borrowed” fresh water from another house on the property to rinse off after the salt water shower. Also very hard on dishes cutlery and pipes Also the kitchen is only 1/2 renovated and bathrooms need some help. But they are doable. The pros are: Great architecture, good beds , clean sheets, Nice towels. Good art nicely arranged. Great location. Secure premise.Dishes and pots and pans are ok. Could use another pot. Owners are responsive and very nice. Lots of furniture outdoors and inside. Appliances all work and are in decent shape. Any house this close to the ocean is very difficult to keep up as the salt rusts everything so appliances in good shape means they have been replaced recently. All in all a nice place The salt water well needs remediation but I’m sure the owners are on this.

La Tintinki - A Nice, Relaxing, Vacation House

My family had a very enjoyable stay at La Tintinki. Here were the pros and cons: Pros: Lizette and her husband were very helpful in answering our questions and getting us situated. They also had a six pack of beer, some baked goods, and various other treats ready for us upon arrival, which was a nice touch. The place is very close to the beach and has its own small pool which my two young kids liked. The beach is very calm and shallow for probably the first 100 meters out. The house was close to many ruins and cenotes, some of which we visited and enjoyed very much. Everything was very inexpensive which was another perk. We felt very safe the entire time we were there and the locals were very helpful and patient with my limited Spanish. Cons: The house only has air conditioning in the bedroom, not the whole house which made it pretty hot at night in the kids' bedroom and the living room especially after closing and locking the doors for the night. The first night we were bombarded by mosquitos and ended up smashing dozens before we could settle down for the night. I'm not sure why they were so bad upon arrival, but we were able to get them under control and then were extra vigilent about making sure the screens were always shut. After that, we didn't have any additional problems with mosquitos inside the house. Also, outside the mosquitos were mostly bad at night so we didn't really go outside after dark. During the day, they were virtually non-existent. Some additional considerations about the area: If you are from the US or Canada, it would be helpful to know some Spanish as very few locals speak English. It is very helpful for getting around. Also, you will need a car if you want to travel around the area. Lizette offered us hers for a reasonable price, but we opted to rent and had no problem driving around in the Yucatan State. You will have to go to Progreso to use an ATM or find an establishment that accepts credit cards, so bring plenty of cash/pesos. Overall, we had a very nice time and would return in the future. Thank you Lizette and Gino for the wonderful stay at your house.

Everything we needed

Great location. House fully equipped and comfortable. Lovely pool. Right on the ocean. Cool breezes so no need for air conditioning. Internet was fast. Near delicious Chelem restaurants. You will definitely need a car, tho. Safe area. Think we only saw 10 other people on the beach in a week. Word of warning, don’t try to find this wonderful house in the dark It’s tricky Go thru Chelem towards Chuburna about 2.5 miles past Las Dunas, a large sign marks Inkmaster. Right past that is a sign advertising a hair stylist and a sign reading Arreciffi. Turn right. Go to end of road. Turn right. About 4 houses on left is your home. Worth the effort to discover it. Lizette is very responsive to all requests and communication was excellent Thank you, Lizette!

We loved our stay at La Tintinki.....

The home is nice and clean and had everything we needed for our week stay. The location is great, just a short drive to all the attractions. The people in the small towns were very friendly. Lizette was wonderful...she makes you feel very welcome and is available for anything you may need. I would definitely stay here again.

Incredible beach home

The beach house, Tintinkin, is in an amazing location with breath taking views and a pool that overlooks the ocean. The house was very clean, well looked after and maintained and offered WiFi that worked very well in all of the rooms. The airflow throughout the house was perfect and even when it was 90+ degrees outside the inside remained very comfortable for sleeping without the use of air conditioning, which is provided in the Master bedroom. Security and instructions on how to maintain safety of our belongings was gone over thoroughly and a safe is available for valuable objects such as passports and electronics, not once did I feel like my safety or the safety of my belongings was compromised. Lizette, the owner, greeted us at the door and was very kind and welcoming, making sure that we knew that we are to treat the house as our own while we are occupying it. I would love to be able to come back and experience this magical place again in the future. Thank you again for an amazing time in Mexico, it was truly an experience I will never forget.

Les proprios sont tout simplement fantastique!

Le 1er jour de notre arrivée, un des nôtres a glissé et s'est fracturée la cheville en 3 endroits. Hôpital, RX, operation, coucher à l'hôpital etc.. et aucun de nous ne parle l'espagnol. Lizette et Gino ont cancellé entièrement toute leur agenda respectif et nous ont pris en charge. Ils ont agi en tant que traducteur, nous ont trouvé les médecins compétents, nous ont accompagné tout le long de cette malchance. Nous sommes vraiment ébahis par leur dévouement. Nous avons continué notre séjour dans la chaleur et dans l'eau magnifique. Merci à Lizette Pinto et à son conjoint Gino. Et Merci à tous les Yucatans, leur hospitalité et leur chaleur humaine me font comprendre pourquoi eux-même sont d'abord des Yucateco et des Mexicains ensuite! :-)

Amazing two month holiday in La Tintiki

What a wonderful two months we experienced at La TIntiki. Gino and Lizette the owners have become our close friends and they are wonderful hosts. Anything and I mean anything that needed attention was dealt with professionally and immediately. The beach house is so comfortable and warm and the back terrace with the pool overlooking the ocean was our favorite spot during the holiday. Chelem and Chuburna only a few short minutes by car offer so many great and authentic Mexican and ex Pat food experiences. Our favourite was Taco Maya where the blacken fish taco's, burritos, and Taco salad were outstanding. This home was truly our home away from home. We have been renting from VRBO for over ten years and have never come across owners like Gino and Lizette. We would highly recommend La TIntiki because of the home, the owners and authentic Mexican experience that awaits you. Oh yes and for good measure Merida is amazing and you can visit Mayan ruins in 40 minutes in any direction.

Traumhafte Tage am Golf von Mexiko.

Wir hatten wunderschöne Tage im Haus von Lizette. Sie hat uns herzlich empfangen und uns einige Tips für die Umgebung gegeben. Alles was man braucht, ist vorhanden. Die Lage am Meer ist ein Traum. A week was not nearly long enough!!

My family and I just got back from a week in the Yucatan staying a week at Tintinki. First let me say that Lizette answered every email immediately and with suggestions and links, she was wonderful. So the ease of booking was great as were her directions to the house. So from the moment we stepped in OMG the wonderful breeze that hit us and then the view! It took a minute to take it all in. The wonderful pictures were accurate however cannot begin to describe what you will feel. The house was perfect and had everything we could want and more. It was very clean comfortable and beautiful. We had a rental car so we could grocery shop and explore. Woke up each morning to the sound of waves had coffee out on deck and then went for a walk and a swim. My perfect vacation. The 3 of us totally relaxed and never needed the AC. The area is quiet and perfect for a relaxing short or long stay. wish ours was longer!! We went to the farmers market at Natural Thangs and met many expats. Our favorite restaurants were: Playa down in Chelem on beach and Maison Maya in Chuburna on left side of main road. If you are looking to unwind this is the place!! Lizette is a wonderful hostess, we are sorry we did not get to meet Gino. We would love to return. Gail, Joyce & Peter from RI

Serene, secluded property.

We loved our stay and the owners! You MUST have Imelda's cooking and hospitality- all at a fair price. The white beach roads will add to the island feel of Chelem and surroundings. There are a few bars close by if you'd like. We even had Uber service there. The patio with pool and beach is where we entertained and relaxed. We are very happy with our stay. The experience went beyond our expectations. The people, climate and various ruins exploration trips were just the icing on the cake while staying at Tintinki.

so peaceful and relaxing

The house had everything you need and more. Lizette and Gino are amazing and a excellent example of the kindness of the mexican people. They made us feel like family and are so genuine. We enjoyed daily walks on the beach picking up interesting shells. We spend a lot of time just is swinging in the hammock, beside the pool watching the pelicans dive for food 20 meters away. Groceries were not a problem in Chelem and Progresso. We used the BBQ and appreciated the sink outside and the clothes line. All seemingly small things but made it feel like home. We did not need the air conditioner. Every afternoon a breeze came up and we fell asleep to the sound of waves and palm trees in the wind. A wonderful month long holiday.
