Bed bugs and ant infestation
I don’t even know where to begin. The access information to the property was never given in advance. We arrived at the apt and even though the management company said that their representative was going to wait for us there no one showed up. The apt was not ready which is fine since we were there a bit early. The door man had no idea who we were and we had a very hard time communicating. He was calling the management and they were calling him back while we were waiting in the lobby all the while I was sending messages back and forth to 2 different people on WhatsApp. After almost an hour of back and forth we finally get into the unit. Right away we noticed that the apt was not very clean and everything was grime. When we went up to the loft we saw that the bed covers were worn out and dirty and immediately noticed ants here and there. The following morning my girlfriend woke up covered in bite marks. At first we did not know what it was but ended up going to the pharmacy and they told us that they were bed bug bites. That same morning we noticed that the ants were everywhere in the bedroom. We immediately contacted the management company (one of the guys I initially chatted with through WhatsApp the day before). He eventually showed up and went upstairs to spray. He also contacted someone else at the management company and she reached out through WhatsApp as well. She wanted to resolve the issues by fumigating the place while we asked to be moved to a different property.
