We arrived 5 mins early for our 3pm checkin to find the cleaner just leaving. So the wet floors were not an issue. However, given that the weather was cold, wet and miserable, it wouldn't have been too much for a heater to have been switched on for our arrival. The lack of firewood and kindling and a fireplace full of ash meant that we needed to use a split system a/c instead. This unit was too small for the space and never got the room warm enough. The oven was filthy and we didn't go near it. Sofas in the lounge were threadbare with holes and one arm even having a large tacky cloth patch hastily sewn into it. The coffee machine still had the grinds of the previous occupier in the group head. Food or some other substance was smeared on the top of the machine. White stains were evident on the sacked out green cushions on the sofas. Dining chairs were still on the table. The toilet seat was falling off and in any case it was too small. Walls and other fittings needed a good wipe down to rid them of runs and food marks. Wet towels spinning in the clothes drier on our arrival and then upon letting the owner know, we were asked to fold them and put them on the bench when dry. We stayed in 4 other places during our Tassy trip. This place was the worst. In fact, had we been able to secure other accommodation, we would have moved out.
