Wonderful stay with outstanding hosts

This property is lovely with the most gracious hosts. Ginette and Ross went above and beyond to ensure that we had a wonderful time. Rooms were extremely comfortable and breakfast was incredible. Highly recommend and cannot wait to return.

A Hidden Gem in Midland! The Captain’s House B&B is a beautiful blend of elegance and comfort. The hosts are warm and personable, and the breakfast is outstanding—fresh fruit and yogurt, homemade bread and jam, and a delicious omelet served in a skillet. The home is filled with antique charm, original art, and luxurious touches like high-quality towels, a deep soaking tub, and a great mattress with plenty of pillows. The gardens are lush and peaceful, and every detail reflects the owners’ love for hospitality. Highly recommended!

Great B&B

We had a really nice time at the Captain’s B&B. We had a warm welcome and the hosts made us fresh homemade breakfast. We did not know up front that we will have a shared bathroom, we are not sure if we missed the information or if it didn‘t say. It was easy to find parking spots on the street. There was no key to lock the door to our room.

Enjoyed seeing all of the original art throughout the house. Experiencing this along with the artists being our host was a bonus. Jeanette and Ross were very friendly and welcoming. We were surprised that it was a shared bathroom and with four other guests in the house, it was a bit inconvenient but we all managed and had nice conversation at breakfast. The breakfast was well prepared and delicious. All-in-all, a very pleasant and relaxing vacation.

My fiance and I booked a last minute getaway to Midland/Penatenguishene and was lucky to have found this charming bed and breakfast hosted by Jeannette and Ross. This turn of the century home is most impressive and the rooms are comfortable and well kept. The art in the rooms and around the home are worth taking time in to soak up!! Their hospitality is absolutely wonderful and we were treated to a wonderful breakfast to start our day on the right foot! The fruit plate was beautifully presented on their lovely china, and the omlette and fresh baked bread were such a treat! We felt very welcomed and will be sure to book again and/or recommend to any friends and viewers alike!

Perfect little getaway!

We had an amazing stay at the Captain's House. We were treated so well by our hosts and made to feel so welcome and comfortable. The house is absolutely adorable, decorated beautifully. The room we stayed in was super cute. The bed was very comfortable and we slept so well. We were spoiled with amazing breakfast both mornings, and had access to a fridge, microwave and coffee station. We enjoyed getting to know our hosts and appreciated their suggestions on places to visit during our little getaway. Location is great as we were just a 5-10 min walk to downtown Midland and most shops and restaurants of interest to us. We really had a great time and are so grateful to Ginette and Ross. We would love to stay again and see the area in the summer or fall.

A personal and welcoming touch.

A quaint heritage home nestled into the historical town of midland. The accommodations were clean and comfortable. The hosts, Ross and Ginette were cordial, friendly and made you feel very welcomed in their home. The breakfast was delicious and tastefully presented. Highly recommended for any traveler vacationing or traveling through the area.

Ross and Ginette are very nice and very accommodating. They both cooked hearty, healthy and delicious breakfast for us to start our days. The breakfast was with beautiful presentations served in a “looks like century” dinning room with beautiful decors. We were treated as we were in a fine dining restaurant. The bed is very comfortable. Love the accents in their house throughout. We really enjoyed our stay with them and it was a very memorable experience for us.

Excellent hospitality

Our hosts, Ginette and Ross made our stay in Midland a highlight. They are genuinely interested in their guests! We shared 2 evenings sitting on the veranda, sipping wine and sharing travel stories! Breakfasts were excellent…..tasty and artistically presented! Overall, a great place to stay.

This is a unique stately old home with original beautiful wood staircases ,floors and window design maintained. it is in a convenient location in the heart of Midland with easy walking or driving distance to local attractions. the owners were delightful as were the guests. breakfasts were simple yet elegant plus delicious . we hope to stay here again when we are in the area.
